I bought a set of used stereo speakers with subwoofer for 99 cents when I was acutely broke and used for almost 2 years straight.

I've compiled my whole home sound system other than my receiver on Craigs List. I think I paid 20 bucks for my center speaker, 10 bucks for the L/R and 50 bucks for surrounds and a subwoofer. All of the speakers are off brands but all have great range and good sound.

Shipping for that stuff on Ebay is pretty bad. Were you able to get a good deal on it?

I think I paid around $7 with shipping. It was Harman Kardon - L/R speakers + a subwoofer- nothing fancy, but it was much better than those cheapo good-for-nothing computer speakers that I had. When I got some better speakers, I gave it to a friend. I used it for several hours everyday for 2 years and gave it to a friend when I got some better ones. You can't get more out of seven bucks. Ooh.. college years!

nothing too sweet for me, but my buddy got a teapot shaped like a train.
it looks amazing but it's designed poorly. the handle/chimney overheats so it has very limited practical benefit.
