advice, please: helios creed/chrome

hello, everyone: was wondering if any of you have seen helios creed and his chrome recently. am contemplating making the three-minute walk to the dive-bar down the street tuesday nite but i am feeling sort of conflicted. could this be great in a great way? or great in a trainwreck way? also, the bar is a cigarette magnet and i would have to come home smelling of ass. oh, and i would have to be around people who use the term "rawk" seriously and own at least 98% of the estrus and gearhead catalogs. (the 2% they don't own is the good stuff.)

He played here in Lincoln a couple of weeks ago and got so messed up beforehand, he couldn't really play and they had to carry him out and take him to the hospital.

I would also add, though, that I saw him play about 5 or 6 years ago and it was rad (except for the losing a chunk of my hearing for a day or two).

A few years later ... eh ... not so much.

If you smoke while you are at the bar, you won't notice the disgusting bar smoke smell. You can always have a shower and brush your teeth 13-17 times when you get home. And Febreeze your clothes before putting them in the hamper.

They have always intrigued me but I have never bought a record.

i am far from an expert, but "half machine lip moves" and "alien soundtracks" are fantastic.

• If you've never seen him before, go.
• If you've seen him before, remain non-commital and make up your mind at the last minute, based on your whims and "mood".
