What are you making for Thanksgiving?
« on: November 26, 2008, 10:16:03 PM »
Yes, yes, I know... another food thread. But I love it!!

I'm in charge of some desserts this year:

- Dark chocolate cookies with semi-sweet chocolate chunks and dried cherries
- Mandel bread with chocolate chips, walnuts topped with cinnamon-sugar
- Butter cookies filled with apricot or mixed-berry preserves

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not sure why you'd harm a perfectly good cookie with a cherry...

I get to go to two Thanksgivings.  First at fiancée's parents' house, then at my sister's house.

She's going to help make dessert or something. I usually bring wit, charm, and sparkling conversation. We are also going to try to get rid of a giant turkey someone gave us, but which neither of us want to eat.

As a teetotaling vegetarian I'm a bit out of place on Thanksgiving, but I do like me some pie.

They also have a tiny bit of almond extract in them. They taste exactly like dark chocolate-covered cherries.

Sweet potatoes au gratin with bleu cheese.  And maybe a tart of some kind.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I don't know, I still think I'd rather just have the cookie.

I've had the urge to make a pie for a while, but it clearly isn't happening for tomorrow- maybe over the weekend.

I'm making Emma pay for her blatant disregard of American food laws. How dare you.

After that, I'm having what Jixby is having. Cook for me this year, other people, I got lazing about to do!

TURKEY.

i'm making an almost 200 mile roundtrip journey to attend 2 different gatherings, capped off by a nightshift at the job. being lucky enough to attend 2 family celebrations, and being able to make enough cash to support mine, has me feeling very thankful this day.

happy thanksgiving to all friends of tom.
