a new years miracle
« on: January 13, 2009, 12:28:04 AM »
I got a good job offer today, my job starts the 26th - right after the last week of my unemployment benefits end!  Anyone else have a reason this will be a great year?

If I get a job I just applied for, 2009 will already be better than last year.

I had an interview with a Gubberment Agency in December, and got a phonecall that I'm looking good but they can't do any offers until after the transition.  I'm cautiously optimistically hopeful, warily.

Good luck to all three of you. I hope it all comes through.

I really didn't come here to bum out this thread but there were no miracles at my place of work today as two crucial folks were let go. It is a small business so two people equals 15% of our employees. My job is pretty secure but...still...just a bummer of a day.

But...ben, AMT, yesno...I hope you get your jobs. It is nice to hear some hopefulness out there...

The company I work for just won a big contract, so I'm not nervous about my job security anymore. I hope things will go well for all youse nervous FOT too.

I found out that my visa was approved on Jan 6th after months of being told it probably wouldn't be.  Just have to have an interview with your Embassy and I am there!!

ive got a track record going: odd years=bad news, even years=spectacular

so far so good, but it hasnt even been two weeks.  not to mention, things go south between may-july, always.

The Winter months to early spring are traditionally the worst times of a year for me. So far, nothing too crazy so far so I'm hoping against hope it goes better than it did last year!

the job fell through a few weeks ago.  anyone want to hire me?  I have a solid resume and even more solid references.

in these times, youve got to go where the jobs are, they don't come to you.  stay tough, ben.
