Go big!  This'll be my second pledge, which I hope will feel twice as potent as the first.  Admittedly, the first pledge was sublimely gratifying.  Maybe there's some sort of exponential factor going.

The whisper on the marathon is that it runs from March 2ND to March 15Th this year.
Every little bit helps.  Start putting your daily change in a jar, those jars can hold a lot.

im excited about the marathon.  2008 was a very giving year for me in regards to FOTs, sick cats, and the best show- no regrets.  people and animals are healthy, the best show is still on the air...im looking forward to 2009 being just as gratifying (without any sick cats).

I'm kind of spreading out donations I make to various causes, so I can't go as over the top as I did last year. But I look forward to doing my part!

Anyone know when it is? If it's going on during the first week of March, I will be in town for just three days and would love to work the phones for 3-6 hours or however long the shifts are. Preferably not more than 6 hours, though. I'm seeing Will Ferrell's show! And the Daily Show! I have stuff to do!

As I understand it, the marathon is March 2-15 (Best Show marathon shows are on the 3rd and 10th).

I want to volunteer really badly, if y'all will have me.

I don't know if that would drive away pledges or bring more in... (Probably neither. The Kid is unstoppable and will remain King of WFMU in the year 2009.)

same here.  in fact, the last few weeks ive been debating on spending the money to fly out for the nite to volunteer.  i'll answer phones for 24 hours straight.

I engineer for the Antique Phonograph Music Program, but I'm still sort of a WFMU-dummy. When can we sign up for volunteering? And is it possible to volunteer "for" the Best Show?
