My favorite Belladonna performance was when Diane Sawyer interviewed her and she broke down in tears. HOT STUFF!

Now don't get me wrong, I love me some smut. like, a bit too much. I've always wondered what compels someone to enter the business, though.

Behind the Smile

During interviews with Primetime , Michelle kept the happy smile she had always had - even when describing things that many people would find disturbing. However, her composure cracked when Diane Sawyer asked why she always smiled. Tears came to her eyes as she said, "Because I like to hide - hide everything, you know?" Then she began to cry, explaining that she hides her real emotions because she wants to show everyone how happy she is. "And I'm not happy … I don't like myself at all," she said.

Michelle confessed she often felt physical revulsion during her scenes: "My whole entire body feels it when I'm doing it and … I feel so - so gross." While pretending to be enjoying the sex, she said, she was in fact counting the minutes, telling herself, "Hey, I only have this much time left. Don't worry about it. Get the check. Gonna go deposit it in your bank." She admitted: "You get addicted to the money."

Like other performers Primetime spoke to, Michelle said that during shooting she often imagines herself outside her body. "I call it the 'other half,' " she said.

Yikes. I hope someone got her a copy of Healing Sex for Christmas.

I think her issues with sex stem mostly from her Mormon background. Have you read Under the Banner of Heaven? Weird stuff.

I don't know to many girls in hardcore porn, so I don't feel comfortable making any generalizations. I can tell you, however, that the girls who did Ssspread (a now defunct website, but there's a DVD floating around if you're curious) were pretty much exclusively emotionally healthy. Of course, it was all amateur, and you wouldn't expect anyone to do Ssspread for the money, seeing as how they paid, like, 75 bucks for a photoshoot and a little more for videos. They were mostly San Francisco On Our Backs dykes who wanted to have a good time, girlfriends who wanted to have a little fun and show the world what real lesbian sex and love looks like. Or something like that. A really cool artist lady named Barb started it and came up with the idea shortly after her NEA grant was revoked. She spent a lot of time in the Chicago area. Maybe you're familiar with Barbara DeGenevieve, Richard?

Who is the #1 favorite porno star?

Is this the sort of thing that should be a poll?  Not that I know anything about it.  Er.

Belladonna, of course. She made a little movie when she was all knocked up called My Ass Is Haunted. It's as good as it sounds!
I saw Belladonna right after she had a baby at Whole Foods in Valencia, CA.  She actually looked kinda unwashed and tired but also was definitely Belladonna, and therefore hot regardless of actual appearance.  She was carrying a baby and had a very big meathead dude with her (husband?).  I couldn't tell if her ass was still haunted.

The one woman I know who does porn does girl-on-girl only and says it's actually better than stripping.  Like she won't strip, as it's too degrading.  But she'll do all sorts of nutty stuff with other women on film, and lord knows what off film.  I think the male-female dynamic and the actual-dong thing changes everything.  Also, you can never underestimate television newscasters' abilities to emotionally manipulate their subjects.  But also also, the little I've seen of Belladonna's recent stuff is pretty fucking gnarly (that's right, I said gnarly, L.A. Reprazent!).

Well, I looked into it, and Belladonna said many of her comments were taken out of context and she did indeed feel manipulated.

No comment on how I feel about Belladonna's recent work. Laurie the Perv sounds a lot like Larry the perv, as it is. Although I can see what you mean if you're talking about Manhandled. Also, keep in mind that Belladonna directed Fetish Fanatic 5, which I think is her most recent, so she had a say in a lot of what went on there. And I'm not going to say she had total control, because I know a lot of porno houses push for various popular acts, like DP which has been crazy popular for a while now, and I'm not talking about Directors of Photography here, but I do know some directors have more control than others, especially if they've won AVN awards or have a lot of promise.

I'm just talking about the latest free 30 second mpg's.  It's not like I actually pay for my smut.  I just mean she looks rugged and raw but usually also like she's calling the shots.  And those shots are pretty gnarly.  I'm fragile. :-[

p.s.--creepiest use of an emoticon yet?

Hey! There's nothing wrong with buying porn. My friend makes her living peddling porn. Also, she gives me a righteous discount. Yeah, I said "righteous."

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, I'm just not about to go and do it.

Anyone who had had a baby at Whole Foods anywhere has a right to look unwashed and tired, in my opinion.

The grammar PoPo strike again!
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Hey, I restrain myself all the time!  But that was too good not to point out.  Think of poor Belladonna, sweating and straining on the floor of Whole Foods, writhing not in the throes of faux passion but the real torture of childbirth, and then valiantly heaving herself upright in order to pick up some wholesome fare for that night's table.  Inspiring, no?

Sarah, Please tell me if this is correct, grammatically.  And if not, howso, and if so, howso, 'cause I would like to know, honestly.  Is it, like, inverted or something?  and I'm pretty sure there's almost never an appropriate time to use the term "whilst", right?  and yes, I know that I just started two sentences with a lower-case "and".

In the months following her pregnancy and subsequent birth-giving, I happened upon the unwashed  and bedraggled Belladonna whilst shopping in the local Whole Foods.

I'm no Sarah, but "whilst" is perfectly acceptable. It seems like it and "learnt" are British/old tymey words that have found new life recently, though I'm still trying to introduce "will'nt" as an acceptable replacement of "won't" to little avail.
"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

Dear John:

I have no grammatical bones to pick with your revision, though I would have forgone* "In the months following" in favor of, perhaps, "Sometime after," unless, of course, you encountered her repeatedly over a stretch of time.  And, since you're using the rather affected (though perfectly correct) "whilst," may I suggest "accouchement" instead of "birth-giving"?

Arcu, wouldn't "willn't" be the proper form (along the lines of "don't")?  And how about expanding your campaign to include replacing "aren't" with "amn't"?

*This gives me a chance to offer some evidence that I'm a language jerk in real life as well:  recently, I startled my sister by using "forwent" quite casually during a phone conversation.  All in all, I suffer from an irritating tendency to combine stilted/archaic/fancy-pants language with colloquial- and regionalisms.  I can be truly annoying.  As you've no doubt inferred.

So this thread went from discussing wacky hotel rooms to hardcore alt-porn to grammar follies.  I think I count more tangents here than in INLAND EMPIRE.  Verily I doth.

I confess as much.  However, I sincerely appreciate your input, and I wish I had someone like you in my immediate circle of friends, as I would be constantly running things by you.

(or is it "...I would constantly be running things by you"?)

...see!

p.s.--I see a grammatically pristine collaborative Fan Fiction involving alt-porn heavies in wacky hotel rooms.

p.p.s.--maybe not.

p.p.p.s.--I'm also seeing a FOT video contest entry by Eon McKai.  Pastiche would suffice.
