Who's worse?

Round One -

Robin Williams versus Billy Connolly

I vote Robin Williams.  He keeps telling the same jokes over and over, for twenty years now.  He's hyper and hairy and I disdain him and all of the movies he is in are ruined by his presence.
Billy Connolly on the other hand is pretty bad of course but way less so I think.  I just saw that Lemony Snicket movie (which is really pretty good) and he didn't manage ruin it for me.  He wasn't obnoxious or anything.  Certainly he wasn't an asset but he wasn't a liability either.  He was just blah.

What you think?

Oh, and here's a good parody of Mr. Williams.  I don't typically like Jimmy Fallon so much but this is a pretty good impression.

Robin, or anyone from the Comic Relief Trio is instantly worse then anyone else. Especially if they are combined as one.

Billy Connolly! He's just plain annoying, and Robin Williams got a couple of good films a few years ago (not R.V).

They both give me that same horrible, painful feeling of pure embarassment and pity when they go on a "riff".

I'm going to have to say Williams, only because I've seen him do a lot of awful things in a lot of awful contexts and I've only ever seen Connolly on Conan, which is one of my favorite shows. Conan reminds me of Tom handling a bad caller in that he can be funny even with an awful guest.

Thanks for that Celebrity Jeopard link by the way. I thought I'd seen them all, but I must have missed that one.

Number 1, Billy Connolly saved the sinking ship that was "Head of the Class".

Number 2, I find his appearances on Conan to be charming, in a having a scotch with a scotsman sort of way.

Round Two : The Awful Director Edition

Brett Ratner vs. Kevin Smith

I'm gonna go with Ratner - he;s pretentious arrogant and a mediocre director at best.  Smith overwrites his movies and tries to be oh-so-clever but he seems like a nice enough fellow.  He's down to earth and self-effacing. I wouldn't mind having a beer with him. And I'll admit that he's made me laugh a couple times.  Whereas Ratner is totally hollywood and wouldn't give us pleebs the time of day - a total asshole.
Red Dragon was shit.

"Or I'm going to run over your knees with my bike."  Gorchian and completely inappropriate for the target audience (the young kid staring slackjawed into the camera).  Four way tie for last.

Tom was right.  The Fonz really is a nerd in a leather jacket.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal for grown men in overalls to sing about penises and vaginas in a children's park. It certainly should be, at least.

I'm going to forward this clip to Chris Hansen. Dateline NBC should totally look into this guy.

Weren't you paying any attention?  "VULVA" is the proper word.

I have a friend who gets all shirty when I use the word vagina in lieu of vulva. She gets even pissier when I say "vag." I admit it, I have a habit of abbreviating words.

Strangely enough, I had to stop myself from using the correct plural for "penis." It's a third declension noun people. But, you know, "penises" is more colloquial than "penes," I guess.

I can't believe I just typed that sentence.

"Penises" is actually preferred by Webster's, which is preferred by copy editors.

As for "vagina," I'm bemused by the idea that anyone would think that "vulva" is a synonym.  More, I'm startled that anyone would use the word often enough to feel compelled to abbreviate it.  Of course, I lead a sheltered life, which could account for my surprise,

I always thought it was peni just because of Rudimentary Peni, but even if it was it shoud be penii. This is the second cautionary tale I have posted here about taking grammar lessons from punk bands.

Peni does mean penis in Esperanto though.

I prefer the Brian Hussein Posehn-supported "vajay".
