I'm down another couple, but I haven't been working out and there is a trip and a lot of cake in the near future.  I've got to get back on.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

I'm going to jump in here to motivate myself.

I ran 7.5 miles in the Fargo Marathon relay last Saturday and I haven't done anything since.

Biking to work is only about 2 miles so that doesn't really count.

I will exercise before Monday. There, I said it.

I tried many things to allow me to listen to music while I swim . . .

I might have to try this.  Swimming might be in my future.  The only thing I ever do is run.  I used to mix in the other two of the three components of the Army PT test--pushups and situps--but they are really boring.  Swimming seems a fun way to become more balanced.

I still hate it, but I hate it so much less than other things.

I've read that swimming is a good workout (obviously), but a bad way to lose weight, because the water keeps your body temperature low or something.

In the end one of the biggest advantages of running is that I can take my dog.  Carrying bags of poop isn't fun, but it makes it so that the dog sleeps most of the day, and it's real sleep not depressed dog sleep.  If I go running in the morning he sleeps while I'm out all day, so I feel less guilty.  Of course, he is then well-rested and hyper for the evening.

I dunno about this. I think weight loss occurs from speeding up your metabolism, which any regular form of cardio exercise will do.

I rode 25 miles on Saturday and then on Sunday, the wife and I took the canoe out for a 10 mile paddle down the Umpqua. Good times!

And now, work sucks so I should be losing some "stress weight" so I got that going for me too.

That's why you swim in Karo.

During the summer, I go swimming with my Yetta. It's a blast because she climbs on me for a free ride and so I have to work much harder to keep her 70 pounds afloat. We swim far out into the lake, where the water is very deep. Lack of interest in drowning motivates me to keep swimming when I would quit. Dodging speed boats stops it from getting boring like other exercise. We both go home tired and sometimes we are so exhausted and shakey that we take a nap on the beach first! Best exercise ever!

More and more the evidence is showing that exercising in general is not nearly as effective as diet for losing weight.  As in it's the 20 in the 80-20 rule.

But it's good for building endurance and overall health...

it should NEVER be one or the other, and I don't buy that anyway.  Stoking your metabolism then eating natural foods is the way to go.  Muscle confusion is also key to avoid plateaus.
