Just noticed that Patton is the latest guest on noted-Zach G-skeptic Bill Simmons' ESPN podcast. Might be an interesting interview, given the lack of common interests.

Finally got a chance to see this tonight at New Beverly Cinema here in Los Angeles. The film was great and Patton nailed the Q&A after the credits. Great performances, great soundtrack, great story. Nothin' but Netski.

Seek it!

I still haven't been able to make it to a screening.  SAD FACE.

It is okay.  It will be on DVD 1/12.  I too wish I could actually see it as a premier, though.

Like all North American dvd releases, this one has a shitty cover.  How will the Big Fan help his team win the Big Game, and is "Dwayne" The Rock Johnson involved?

I don't get what you mean.  This coverbox clearly conveys that an optimistic uncle (played by Patton Oswalt) coaches his nephews rag-tag football team to victory against the red team.

No offense, but I say PURCHASE it!  When has Patton ever steered you wrong?

I really, really liked it. I will have to purchase it at the first opportunity. Patton did a great job and I think Siegel has a really interesting career as a filmmaker in front of him.

I do want to know what studio person thought that DVD cover was a good idea, though. Yikes.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Isn't there some kind of expression like "a camel is the only animal designed by committee" or something like that? In the book biz, a bunch of people sit around a room and argue about each and every detail on a cover sometimes. It's ridiculous. This kind of cover won't work with consumers, that kind of cover won't show up well on the amazon title page, etc etc. Usually the most forward and innovative cover concepts are nixed - because they are too forward.
