The new WFMU app is AMAZING! Holy moly. The features are insane: archives, podcasts, the new WFMU streams, pretty design, bookmarking songs live, pausability, random access, WFMU's twitter and blog feeds, station schedule, background images for shows. Just clicking around I saw that Ken Freedman's show (among others) has a playlist. On the playlist  you can click straight to any  song. Amazing! They thought of everything.

Yes. Yes. I am in love.

My favorite app just for entertainment purposes is the I Am T-Pain app that auto-tunes whatever you record.

I recommend sitting in a studio next to someone who's recording vocals for a "real" album and record just them singing without them knowing it. Play it back for them T-Pain stylee afterward. Laughter and merriment ensues.

I got an iPhone on Sunday because I knew this was coming out.... just kidding, but it's another great iPhone app. Does anybody know if they are planning to expand the archives to include everything from the past?

I really want an iPhone now. Thinking about buying one instead of pledging!

Past archives are mostly in rm still for some reason.

This app is ace. Think they'll do a version for Motorola StarTac?

Any android users? What's the best way to listen to WFMU on an android device?

Android has a free version of StreamFurious.  It's okay.  But like WFMU's previous app, you can't fast forward in an archive--or at least I haven't figured out how to--so if you lose a signal while driving you have to start from the beginning again.

From WFMU's blog:

Last but not least: an Android version of this app is almost ready and should be hitting the marketplace real soon.

In light of this new information...StreamFurious stinks!  Don't bother.

Thanks for the update, Martin.  My happiness index for the day just increased 77%.

That's great to know. I just hope it's Android 1.5 compatible. I've tried Streamfurious and found it to be useless.

HA I just got a Droid at the beginning of the week and was looking for a WFMU app. Now I have it. I made a horrible screeching noise of happiness.

The new version of the iPod app is just too good for them to give away. I have paid for apps that pale in comparison.

WFMU should be charging at least a buck for this great thing.

Speaking of music apps, the Brian Eno created "Bloom" is a fun addicting ambient music generator. Sounds great through good headphones and speakers.

I just got this and it's AWESOME. Totally worth buying. Has anyone tried the follow-up Trope? Is it worth getting as well?
