I've never even heard of mine: I Knew You Were Waiting (for Me) by Aretha Franklin and George Michael. Just that pairing alone gives me the creeps, and makes me think my birth was the introduction of a great evil into the world.

Boy, am I glad I wasn't born a year earlier:  my thirteenth-birthday song would have been the Archies' "Sugar, Sugar," a song that has made my skin crawl since the moment I first heard it.

I unironically love that song.

I'm a Bang-Shang-a-Lang man. Plus, I liked the Archies!

My thirteenth birthday:

In Da Club by 50 Cent

Totally describes my life at that time.

I find it repellent.  At twelve, when it was released, I remember shrieking and having to plug my ears when it came on the radio.  There was just something about it that disgusted me.  I haven't heard it in years.  Probably my reaction to it now would be less violent, but I have no doubt it would be negative.

When I turned thirteen, the number one song was "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston.  That song does not exactly sum up my teenage experience.

I saw Ms. Myles live in concert as the opening night for Bob Plant.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.
