I watched a bit more of the thing last night and it seems to me that The Real World and shows like it have been running long enough that some people have grown up thinking that that's what people are supposed to be like so in this weird way Jersey Shore is a parody of itself. Also is it just me or does The Situation look like Pauly Shore?

First of all, YES! The best part is that he lifts up his shirt, points to his abs and says "That's the situation." If these weren't real people it would be the best comedy on television. Since it is "real" people it is a scary look at what America is becoming (has become?).

Can we please go easy on The Situation.  He has feelings and emotions too.  If he is cut, does he not bleed?

As for the right hook heard round the world in that animated .gif that is going around, turns out the guy doing his Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots impression is a Queens teacher (he is not a character on the show, just another attendee of a night out in Seaside Heights).  Go Figure.

Just started watching today.  Comedy genius.

I showed a coworker a trailer for it and he was mesmerized by a culture that having lived his whole life in Oregon he never new existed. Now the new game at work is having the New Yorker (me) say quotes from the show with an authentic accent. We're currently getting almost as much comedy gold out of this as the Gathering of the Juggalos infomercial.

Apparently MTV will no longer be showing the punch in an episode, even though we've all seen it a million times.  I was curious to see what lead up to that guy actually punching her in the face, though I'm guessing it wasn't much.
