Jorge Garcia, dude.

Is masterofsparks the only good jokester on this whole damn thread?

Sorry Dave ... SOMEBODY implied that Kurt Russell wasn't a good actor, and a red mist dropped over my eyes.

For the record, SOMEBODY didn't imply that he was a bad actor, just that Sawyer is the new Kurt Russell. Maybe SOMEBODY thinks Sawyer is a great actor and the only Loster that could possibly fill Mr Russell's shoes. I'd like to make it clear that I think Mathew Fox is the worst actor on Lost by leaps and bounds. I'm on board with Michael Emerson being the best actor on the show. Sure, the wheel scene was lame but NO ONE on that show has done great in every one of their scenes.

Oh and the Asian dude who talks to ghosts is a good actor. But he's not given much to work with on this show.

Yep, he's probably the best of the lot when it comes down to it.  Michael Emerson created a great character but has been coasting (especially last season).  Terry O'Quinn is solid.  I think that's it.

I get some of the hate (Michael Fox and Evangeline Lilly aren't the finest actors of their generation by any means), but I think the show gets some really solid performances from their actors. For a show that falls back on genre so much, both the writing, directing and a lot of the acting keeps the show's feet on the ground. It's not naturalistic, but it's effective. And I'm with you that Terry O'Quinn, Ken Leung and Josh Holloway are by far the best the show. And even those who aren't the most compelling on the show have had their moments: Elizabeth Mitchell in season 5, Naveen Andrews whenever he goes badass, Jorge Garcia when he goes crazy, Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim are great together and Henry Ian Cusick all the time (when he's guest staring) as Desmond.

And while I'm handing out praise, Madison the dog for her portrayal of the imperfect yet compelling soul known as Vincent. I'd give anything to take her on Inside the Animal Actor's Studio. What was her motivation? Was it a treat? Or was it something deeper... the existential treat, the validation of one's existence by one's master?

BOOM! SNL sketch. HIRE ME LORNE MICHAELS! Okay, I don't know what this post has become. I apologize for wasting your time. The fact that you spent precious, valuable life reading this makes me sad. I'm sorry. And yet, my ego compels me to click "post." Enough mucking about. Here it goes.

Some really good actors have had small roles on the show (I'm thinking specifically of Lance Reddick, John Hawkes and Titus Welliver).

I also like the guy who plays Frank Lupitas.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Okay, I"m cooling down RE Kurt Russell (no I have not watched that fudge Deathproof). I also made it through about a season and a half of Lost through the reruns on SciFi, where I could DVR 4 episodes at a time and then watch them throughout the week. That's about my limit for those jerk your chain teevee shows. Twin Peaks was another one.

Katey Sagal's work in last week's episode was fantastic.

As for other Deadwood actors, William Sanderson was hilarious in his lone appearance as Oldham.  He delivered one of my favorite lines:

I think the acting is pretty good, but then I'm a fan.

Compare it to a show like Hero's.

The first few episodes that Juliette was on I thought she was a great actress but then I realized that she just uses a facial expression that works for any emotion.

Last night's episode was very informative.  When I draw up my will, I will be sure to put it in an envelope and then write LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT on said envelope with a black Sharpie.  That way when my loved ones start their needle-in-a-haystack search for it, they will be sure they have found the correct document.

Still lovin' Hurley's Star Wars references.  I assume that Klausner did some punch-up on the script.

I'm taking classes on how to be better organized, and they actually tell you to do this.  True story.

Paula Malcomson, too. She's introduced only to get shot in the gut.

edit: Forgot. Calamity Jane was Juliet's sister.

And Joanie Stubbs is Sawyer's baby mama.

Speaking of connecting people to other roles they've played, every time the guy playing Jacob shows up, I keep waiting (hoping?) for him to say "Your name's Lebowski, Lebowski."
