Yeah, generally the callers are much more obsequious now that Tom's such a big shot. (I sure would be - one of the reasons I don't call!) There are fewer wild cards these days.

I loved that dude Dick, from last week ... and that weird woman calling from the Hudson Valley whenever that was, a few weeks ago?

There are still people that spin the dial and land on this show and go, "I don't like this, I'm going to call in and tell this guy what's what", and there are still those tool/knobs out there who decide they're going to try and take Tom down.

i couldn't stand that guy!  well, as a human being but the only thing keeping me from truly hating him was knowing that in the end Tom would get the  last heave ho.  my confidence in Tom really allows me enjoy the show and those kind of callers because the fact of the matter is, i'm slowing turning into my mother and getting passionately upset about people calling in and voicing their opinions on the radio from hundreds of miles away.

you know, the stuff worth getting worked up over.

His first call was on 12/17/02, when he called up several times during the second annual Billy Joel Tribute show. He started calling on a nigh-weekly basis in early 2003, including the first Party Zone show (1/21/03) and a few shows where he (and other crappy callers) drove Tom to sing along with Aimee Mann.

Buffo,  in the Middle East and parts of Mexico tunneling is living.  You don't tunnel; you don't live. Dig?

Bring him on!  Or at least help me understand the Mr. Leo connection.

Mom's seen this pic.  She's sending her lawyer.

There are all these awesome steam tunnels under NC State University in Raleigh.  We used to go over there and run around in them when I was in high school.  There was just this one manhole cover in front of this one building, you lifted it up and down you went.

What stopped us was when we saw this plastic sheet that had "Danger! Asbestos" printed on it stretched across the hallway - and we were reading it from the wrong side.
