Wow, I don't even know what to say. He is clearly having a mid-life crisis and this was a huge cry for help, I hope his true friends aren't too cool to reach out to him. Some of that stuff is just unforgivable in my book but combined with everything else it seems that Fat Mike hasn't been even close to emotionally sound for a very long time. NOFX is playing here next month and I don't know if this review makes me want to stay away or go watch the potential train wreck.

The worst thing about that article is how horribly written it is -
"The moment Mike showed up as Cokie the Clown it was immediately evident that this was not going to be a comedic type of set. His face was adorned in makeup akin to a traditional European whiteface clown but his eyes were empty and glazed over – the emptiness was vacuous."

I wonder what AP Mike's take on this would be. I watched some of the video, and ew bouy those songs are terrible.

jeeeeesus. NOFX were partly responsible for getting me into punk back when I was in high school, but I haven't paid much attention to them for probably eight or nine years or so. Those stories sound pretty horrifying.

Yeah, that Big Ben fellow was trying way too hard to be a WRITER and, like so many people who try to do that, wrote terribly as a result.  Also, I've got to say that on the continuum of bad things people in my own life have done, especially those who drink too much and do too many drugs, Fat Mike's rank no higher than many.  This is not to say that he doesn't have reason to be screwed up by them but rather that his is hardly an exceptional case--except, I suppose, in that he is as bothered as he apparently is.

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Fat Wreck Chords."

It wasn't quite as shocking after reading the article, and you get crummy songs, crummy juggling and crummy heckling between stories, so you really aren't missing much. I watched about 10 minutes of it before skipping to the end to see people's reaction to finding out they drank Fat Mike's pee (of which Fat Mike also drank :-X *).

I really don't like clowns.

I would be seriously surprised if all or even any of those stories he told are true.  Just the presence of a videographer alone sets off my bullshit detector so hard, as does the perfectly paced/choreographed climax.  This seems quite a bit more carefully planned than most onstage meltdowns.  I say it stinks of performance art to high heaven.

I mean, it's still fucked up that he made people drink his pee and all, though.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

Is it just me, or are punk guys no fun at all anymore?

The only fun thing Fat Mike has ever done is write that song about having to pee really bad, which in light of this seems also not fun.

Really now that I think about it, the most fucked up thing about this is that we are all talking about a NOFX side project in the year 2010.

Why is the internet shocked about the performance of a guy whose primary band NOFX released an album featuring a boy reverse-cowgirling a sheep on the album cover? (or was it the other way around?)

I mean feel free to be disgusted with the results, because that's your opinion, obviously. (I'm disgusted.) But the whole "Guy Behind Shock Value For His Whole Career Does Something Shocking" thing going viral in 2010 is what's more confusing to me, I guess?

This is a general "you", btw. Every internet forum I'm on is going crazy about this Fat Mike thing. *shrug*
