- Carl Sagan saying that people "are made of star stuff."

- Butter cream frosting.

- Merry Clayton's voice cracking on "Gimme Shelter" followed by someone else in the studio going "Woo!"  That is the way a studio recording (and rock in general) should be...heartfelt and rough around the edges.

- The scene in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" where Scatman Crothers - in a rage - tells one of the inmates to "Get out of here you crazy, slim motherfucker!"

- "Strychnine" by The Sonics.

- Front porches at night, summer, cicadas screaming.

- Matt Braunger's bit about prank calls.

- Opening credit music to the original "Taking of Pelham 1,2,3."

- "That'll do, pig."  Cromwell as approving father figure.  Makes me weep every time.

So, this guy is a genius.  He takes breaks from the Ron and Fez show and then makes songs. They may not be as comical if you don't know the back storys (actually, none of them are so inside that you shouldn't laugh a little), but he's got this haunting voice and weird style.

Here are the one's you should start with if you care enough to listen:
It takes a rube (based on a comical bit where Fez overtipped an old waiter at a steakhouse, turned into an haunting song by adding a backstory to the waiter based on the story they told.)
Mighty Horse (based on an interview with Marc Ecko)
The Jay Mohr has a really great part at about 0:22 in.
The Christmas Song was written for a new Christmas Carol contest that Ron and Fez had.  He blew them away by submitting it on about the second day.
The Battle of Big A and Fez may be my favorite

He also did a ton of twitter songs that were limited to 140 characters and were great.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

ok, while I'm talking about the talented fans of the Ron and Fez show, there's another guy named Perrynoid that does radio himself and produces songs for the show.  Sometimes his stuff is harder to find (it seems like he takes it down from his website when he starts getting bites on radio jobs.)  I like all his stuff, but he's produced a set of autotuned songs that are particularly good that deal with Fez's issues lately (Fez started as an over the top effeminate personality for the radio and over the last couple of year he's come to grips with the fact that he's really got a "secret",  an issue that he has been struggling with in real life, I guess.  You never know what's a shoot and what's a work, but this seems very real.)

Andy Zax via Twitter: "This slowed-down Justin Bieber thing really needs a 4AD logo and a Vaughan Oliver sleeve design."

So true.

Football season. And how there's not even a question about what the airport TV is going to be tuned to if a football game is on.

Long walks on the beach, the smell of fresh cut grass, and books about the Peloponnesian War.
