Oh yeah! That Dog Mayor episode was sheer genius. I find the series a little uneven, but when they get it right, it's sublime.

I was falling asleep last night when I heard a trailer for the new Zach G movie where he tells a kid he should be "at Coney Island, birddoggin' chicks". Confirmed AP Mike reference?

Media I'm currently loving:

-The Cold Six Thousand by James Ellroy
The book is great but I've found it hard to elaborate how awesome it is to other people because my explanations of "well, it's a secret history of the US politics" kind of make it sound kooky.

-Chris Claremont-era X-Men comics
I bought the second volume of Marvel Essentials X-men specifically to get the Dark Phoenix saga. At times, the writing really holds your hand with the story ("Cyclops was feeling sad", etc.). But the characters are so well defined and the way the issues flow together to form an ongoing story is great.

-Community Season 1 DVD
Man, that show is just really damn funny.

Don't let those folks bother you, Woody.

The history we're taught in school is kooky.

That's true, Fredericks. I haven't gotten around to People's History of the US by Zinn. Worth the read?

Yep.

I love Mother Jones (most dangerous woman in America at eighty).

One of my heros.

I was watching that trailer last night and I caught another possible Best Show reference, though I was tipsy, could have been imagining it, and don't remember specifically what it was this morning.

Or, Stuff Tom Loves.

I thought this book was great, I really liked Howard Zinn, he was one of the good guys. If you have time, 'You Can't Be Neutral On A Moving Train'. Also worth the read.

I love USAA.  Not only do they have fabulous service (we use them for mortgage, insurance, banking, etc...), but they just approved us for a 15 year mortgage refinance at 3.625%.  I couldn't be more excited.
