Why didn't he go with what works and play "Late for School" or any of his other banjo hits?
He's this soulless bastard from Siberia. I once saw him shove Fred Savage's face in a toilet.

I'm siding with Steve on this one. If you're a big enough fan of his to pay $50 to see him at the Y for something advertised as an interview, how do you not know he's a huge art guy now? And just wrote a novel that takes place in the art world? I'm not a big fan of banjos and books about Picasso, but this is not like Dylan suddenly going electric, either.

Agreed. They should've known better. Refunding the show is ridiculous.

This would have never happened if they had just let George Strombolobouloys interview him again.

Every action this venue has initiated in this incident is deplorable.  Sick.

I'm not a big fan of banjos and books about Picasso.

Did you mean "and/or" rather than "and"?

I happen to like both.

You, my friend, are a weirdo.

Here's an interesting article written by someone who ACTUALLY went to the event:

Love these comments:

audience and someone’s monocle popped out.
Who give a shit?"

I disagreed with their verdict.  Bill Murray ain't husband material, unless you want to be at least emotionally, if not physically, abused.  I would kill him, marry Steve Martin (who seems like a nice enough fellow, if a bit of a bore), and fuck (SNL-era) Chevy Chase.

From the above blog:
"A woman took to the podium and introduced Martin and Solomon; at some point, referring to Martin's impressive variety of accomplishments, she called him a "Renaissance man." Solomon and Martin came out, and Solomon immediately expressed her opinion that, as he lacks any accomplishments in the sciences, designating Martin a "Renaissance man" was perhaps a bit much. Martin agreed and said something to the effect that Leonardo da Vinci set the standard of a Renaissance man to a degree that has hardly been met since."

Are we supposed to believe that this was a serious discussion? It sounds like one or both of them (the interviewer and Martin) are insane and/or incredibly narcissistic. I'm embarrassed for both of them.
This is the point where I would have RUN out. Bbut I wouldn't think of asking for a refund.

I heard about the Abstract Expressionism as a CIA false art movement thing on Too Much Information, but it sounded more like the CIA made Abstract Expressionism their pick to sell the US to Europeans on the fence, rather that creating it or fabricating it. We should all be so lucky as to have the CIA get behind something we were going to do anyway and give us tons of money to do it in the interest of furthering their goals.

The thing about Reality TV as a plot to wipe out liberals in the entertainment industry was pretty interesting, too.
