Who are your favorite funny people?

Besides the obvious BS people? I'd say Comedy Bang Bang is responsible for a huge ammount of my picks:

Nick Kroll (seriously his improv with the Fabrice Fabrice character is AMAZINGLY quick and smooth), Rob Heubel (I haven't seen him in one thing I didn't like), Rob Corrdry (Children's Hospital!), Paul Scheer (consistently hilarious and a great parody actor), Harris Wittels (Parks and Recreation rules and his Phone Corner is great) , James Adomian (LOVE the impressions on CBB), Jerry Minor (....and God and The Bible.), Matt Walsh (solidified appreciation when I watched Dog Bites Man) and Matt Besser (His voice is just instant humor, loved Crossballs) are all current favorites. Those are just a few to get the ball rolling. Indie comedy in movies, tv and radio is so strong right now.

I really like Louis CK, especially for his show, which is the best thing on TV right now. It makes me laugh and also makes me have feelings; the Joan Rivers episode was one of the most heartfelt episodes of any show that I've ever seen.

Maria Bamford, who I think is one of the top stand ups of all time.

Marc Maron. I'm actually not big into his standup, though I am looking forward to his new album, which should be different than any of his others as it's his first post-WTF record.

H Jon Benjamin has a funny voice, what's not to love?

I used to be big into Tim and Eric, which is how I got into TBS originally (Zatch was going to be on in December 2008, someone posted a message over at the T+E message boards).

Longmont Potion Castle (for prank calls)

Paul Stanley (for stage banter and general demeanor)

On the TV - Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, Jon Glaser.

Rob Delaney is super funny on twitter.

I've been really enjoying Tig Notaro's podcast and her CD Good One.
"You want me to recognize you and I won't. I won't acknowledge you! I deny you. So you keep begging and begging. The door is slammed on you. I want nothing to do with you. You will die unrecognized by me."

Check out Paul's Folger's commercial, then order some processed squid meat.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Gonna list some British ones which you guys mightn't know.

Daniel Kitson: recordings of two full shows can be found on his website (http://web.mac.com/dk27/Site/podcast/podcast.html). Absolutely amazing performer, could probably carry a 90 minute set without any material, saw him do a 60 minute one last year with nothing and it was still great. He continues to challenge himself though, focusing on having a narrative running through shows or whatever, most of his story shows are just as good as his straight standup, if not better, to be honest.

Stewart Lee: Probably best to just watch a youtube.

Harry Hill: He's gone a bit poor lately, but I find he's brilliantly silly when he hits the right notes. Managed to make a really bland and basic premise incredibly successful over here across the last decade.

Hans Teeuwen: Bit of a superstar in Holland, I believe. He started doing English shows over the last few years, probably somewhere between Andy Kaufman and Jim Carrey, but, em, a better comedian than either of those.

Limmy: Creator of the best sketch show of the past... decade? Lord knows how long. May not be comprehensible to those who cannot understand Scottish accents easily.

Adam & Joe, Chris Morris, David Renwick, Armando Iannucci, Chris Langham (ignoring all that stuff that happened later, obviously)

Em, yep, that's probably enough for now.
