AMC's The Killing is finally up, or at least it was this past weekend. Saw the first three episodes and they were pretty good.

Be prepared to be bored and then ultimately aggravated. I did not like this show and the condescending/clueless stuff the show runner said after the season finale.

Oof. I don't remember the last time I was angry at a show as if it was a real person. Sure, shows can make me angry, but I had actual fantasies about killing The Killing. I'm talking straight up murder.

Starting to see what you mean. Has there ever been a more unlikable detective duo? Wash your hair, both of you!

Examined Life is pretty great.

It's awesome.  I also recommend Zizek, by the same filmmaker, if everyone here hasn't already seen it.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

These are my 5-star-ers available on instant watch that aren't obvious or classics:

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
MST3K: The Final Sacrifice
Swimming Pool
Harvey
Before The Devil Knows You're Dead
Three…Extremes
World's Greatest Dad
Harold and Maude
The Human Centipede
Hellraiser

(If you're like me and haven't seen Hellraiser until last night... It's flabbergastingly good, compared to pretty much any other horror movie ever.)

I LOVED World's Greatest Dad. What a pleasant surprise. The poster made it look like the worst thing ever.

Luther is so dark that I had to take a break.

Home Movies is great after they went away from squigglevision.  Season 2-3-4 are charming and fun.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

With Home Movies, frustrated, condescending Jason was a much better character than the gross, creepy Jason of season one.

"All In This Tea" is a nice little documentary about an American trying to buy tea from small farms in China and encourage sustainable tea growing.

MIKE SHOW BONUS: There's a brief cameo by WERNER HERZOG.

Richard Ayoade's SUBMARINE is up. As is the hilarious Stevie Little vehicle THE CATECHISM CATACLYSM.

Robin Williams can be quite an enjoyable actor to watch when there's some kind of authority figure and/or director telling him to take it down a notch. The notion of Bobcat Goldthwait being the voice of moderation in this scenario is kinda hilarious ... but these are interesting times that we live in.
