Dudes. There is nothing in this interview to suggest any sort of rift between Tom and Paul.  For Tom to say the show wouldn't happen with him simply means that they passed on it and he's on to something new.  Of course they could have had a falling out, you never know, it happens. But there isn't the slightest hint of that in here.

Also, good interview!  So nice to not read how Tom and Jon met for the hundredth time.

The way he talked about the show, combined w/ (what feels to me like) the abrupt, sudden lack of PFT on The Best Show is what gave me the the feeling I mentioned.  I had no idea about the Twitter thing.

Need to listen to that Mental Illness Happy Hour still.  PFT's earlier personal revelations on WTF were incredibly relatable to me, and it remains one of my favorite installments.

That said, this only leads to the thought of Kid Jersey on MIHH, which.... eeeeesh, just not his style. Ever. The personal side we got out of his WTF was unnerving enough.  Let Tom be Tom, and let his professional angst be worn like a majestic cloak.

Most likely, Tom and Paul didn't have a falling-out as much as a professional disagreement and they're keeping distance from each other as a result

This is almost exactly how I would define "falling out".  Plus, Tom has been pretty harsh concerning the five guys running to each others' podcast like hamsters.  It would be hard to not include PFT in that group, considering how many podcasts he does.  I wouldn't characterize it negatively, because in my opinion PFT is a genuine master who is also at the absolute top of his game, and I find his appearances hilarious.

I dunno, man.  I got a vibe, and it bummed me out.  Kind of like your two best friends not getting along, know what I mean?

I wasn't tracking who follows who, but when I started getting curious after some of Tom's comments, I looked at Tom's and Paul's twitter and noticed they weren't following each other anymore. Really, I'm not looking for drama and I hope it is all just some of us reading into things too much.
