Oh, this reminds me of a pointer that might be of use to some of you.  If you have a cat who drives you nuts when you're doing stuff in the kitchen, pat him/her thoroughly with your greasy/wet/otherwise sullied hands.  Your cat will immediately get down to the business of cleaning off what you've deposited on him/her and leave you alone for a bit.  Sure, you'll then need to wash your hands before you get back to work, but it's worth it for the respite.

I have even considered filling a spray bottle with some kind of greasy liquid--or perhaps the water drained from tuna fish--to spray on my cats to distract them from harassing me when I'm doing something tempting in the kitchen.  (Oh, what I would give sometimes for kitchen doors.)

Nico likes it when I pet her with wet hands. By the time I'm done getting a bath, she's soaked from head to tail. She also enjoys letting the faucet drip on her.

Bunch of weirdos, those cats.
around these parts we call that "the wet pet"
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

This is also a good way to give them liquid medicine if they won't hold still. Just put some on the top of their paws and they have no choice but to lick it off. It makes them nutso.

also, if you have to give them medicine or do anything else they don't want, just wrap them up in a towel so that they lose their squirming abilities.

I still don't have a digital camera or scanner and so can't thrill you with pictures of my creatures, but today a friend of mine sent me this of two of hers, so I'm going to live vicariously through them:

I sometimes go for the two week stretch with jeans. Actually, i almost always go for the two week stretch.

Well, you weren't lying there.

That is a MAN holding Blam. That's my boyfriend in his painting pants. But yes, I suppose we have the same pants habits. It's true love

We just adopted this guy - his name's Josh and he's 6 years old. His owner died and he found us through a friend of one of my wife's clients.

Our cats have been less than pleased at his arrival:

I'll probably go into the wee hours.

An Airedale? Our last dog was an Airedale and he was the best dog ever. Josh is coming along pretty well but we're trying to ease his transition to our house - he's been pretty traumatized by the last several weeks.
