I really like all of them to varying degrees, Breaking The Waves is one of my favorite films period. Not all suffused with darkness, The Five Obstructions and The Boss Of It All are actually quite fun.

I've only seen a few of his films. I liked Antichrist, though I'll probably never watch it again. I haven't cared for the few others I've seen. I do LOVE The Kingdom and am sad that the saga will likely never be completed as principal actors keep dying.

I've always avoided his stuff because it didn't seem my speed, but I happened to check out Melancholia and really liked it. It hasn't caused me to explore any further, though.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

The Idiots and Breaking the Waves are great stuff. Melancholia pales in comparison.
Ever do nothing and gain nothing from it?
Ever feel stupid and then know that you really are?
Ever think you're smart and then find out you aren't?
Ever play the fool and then find out that you're worse?

I liked Melancholia, loved Breaking the Waves. I may have been nuts at the time but I saw Dancer in the Dark (Bjork stars and sings) in the theater and cried like a baby. Not sure it holds up and it is completely over the top but it made an impact.

NYMPHO VOL. 1 is great.  Lars rules.

I thought the beginning was just silly, fly fishing? It actually gets pretty good when it gets to the Shia Labeouf section.

Did you watch Vol. 2? If so, what did you think of the ending?

I didn't find Shia Labeouf very engaging (and found it very odd that his character is played by a different actor in Vol. 2), but the scenes with Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgård were very enjoyable.

My biggest complaints were that Christian Slater was awful and that the ending was kind of dumb. I still thought it was better than Melancholia, though.
