Cannot promote my podcast, because I have not updated it in 3 years.

But I have a question for you: Do you think this post to the podcast website is a joke?

"I am very enjoy this for podcasting! Please to make and continue new times. We do very enjoy in Norway and have many fans for toothychum! Sometimes for old episode in listen for at the pub grouping! Funny funny!
posted by: Jokkum Efskript on Thu, 4/2 02:03 PM EDT"

I know I am probably exposing my stupidity here (I am expecting someone to say "'Efskript' is a compiling language you computadummy!"), but I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

Sounds like a fake to me.  "Please to make and continue new times"  That smacks of fake bad english to me.  But I could be wrong.

Hey - this isn't for me, really.

The guitarist/singer in my band Pharmacy Spirits is on tour as a guitarist/singer in a band called Beep Beep (myspace.com/beepbeep). His name's Jim. Here are the rest of their tour dates:

Apr 6 2009     Vaudeville Mews    Des Moines, Iowa
Apr 7 2009    Bottom Lounge    Chicago, Illinois
Apr 8 2009    The House Cafe    Dekalb, Illinois
Apr 9 2009    Uptown Bar    Minneapolis, Minnesota
Apr 10 2009    Keweenawesome Festival    Houghton, Michigan
Apr 11 2009    South Park Tavern    Dayton, Ohio
Apr 12 2009    Cake Shop    New York, New York
Apr 13 2009    Johnny Brenda’s    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Apr 14 2009    Velvet Lounge    DC, Washington DC
Apr 15 2009      Local 506         Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Apr 16 2009    The Milestone    Charlotte, North Carolina
Apr 17 2009    Caledonia    Athens, Georgia
Apr 18 2009    Drunken Unicorn    Atlanta, Georgia
Apr 19 2009    Backbooth    Orlando, Florida
Apr 20 2009    New World Brewery    Tampa, Florida
Apr 21 2009    The Engine Room    Tallahassee, Florida
Apr 22 2009    1982 Bar    Gainesville, Florida
Apr 24 2009    Outland Ballroom    Springfield, Missouri
Apr 25 2009    The Firebird    St. Louis, Missouri

Don't let the Saddle Creek label confuse you. It doesn't sound like their typical fare. It's really weird.

But, yeah, please stop by and say Hi to them. If you talk to Jim real nice-like, he'll give you a CD sampler of Pharmacy Spirits, too! I know you're excited.

Hey guys, I've got a performance I will be doing at this art show tonight-

http://www.schoolofvisualarts.edu/sa/index.jsp?sid0=201&page_id=139&event_id=1060
Quote
School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents “Mentors,” an exhibition of work by BFA Photography Department students inspired by their year-long mentorship with key figures in the New York arts community. Drawn from the ranks of city’s best-known photographers, curators, art directors, publishers, art dealers, critics and writers, the mentors are paired with students based upon their field of expertise and the student’s area of concentration. The 2008-2009 mentors include creative director Fabien Baron, cinematographer and SVA alumnus Harris Savides, New York Times writer Philip Gefter, and photographers Ari Marcoupolis, Sally Gall and Gregory Crewdson, among others.

Established in 1992, the Mentors program at SVA was designed to cultivate relationships between established and emerging artists and to introduce new talent to the New York arts community. Stephen Frailey, chair of the BFA Photography Department and curator of the exhibition, explains, “We are always seeking to provide our students with opportunities that support their growth as professional artists. Working with these mentors offers our students an invaluable learning experience, one that inspires them to take their work further.”

It's from 6-8 at the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26 Street, 15th floor.

If you're in the mood to create a login and do some online voting, a site I worked on is up for a Webby and is pretty fun: http://pv.webbyawards.com/ballot/home

It's under Entertainment > Art and it's called "Color Chart".

Why DracSearch is not on there is beyond me.

Yes, that's it. Our friends/developers did most of the heavy lifting -- I just did the video content and the "project management" (aka cleaned up the XML and had a bunch of meetings). My Flash skills are nowhere NEAR their level. Or the level of most 12-year-olds.

That's a great video, John.  Man, Chris Ware is fucking dark.

I got another show coming up, this time in Seattle.  It's Maria/Stuart, which a bunch of FOT saw when it was up in DC last fall.   I might make it out to see it.  From the the theater site:

Maria/Stuart
by Jason Grote
A contemporary rip-off of Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart, Jason Grote's dark comedy is a hysterical take on dysfunctional family life that incorporates ghosts, German poetry, and liters of soda in a dance at the edge of theatrical chaos. Stuart is in his late 20's, lives with his mother, and is into comic books. He, his mother, his 2 aunts, his grandmother, and his too-close and too-pretty cousin, have dark secrets - and until the secrets are revealed, an agitated and somewhat confused spirit who has access to fax machines will not rest.
Directed by
David Gassner
