How easy is it to casually sell on etsy? I have a stack of little cross stitch originals, but I don't want to sell them for 2.50 or something.

A bandmate and I are going to be serving as the rhythm section for power pop legend Paul Collins on shows in the Deep South this month. The Memphis show will be a reunion with Peter Case, Collin's bandmate in the Nerves (early SF punk group). He's got dates later in the summer for the upper midwest and west coast.

Paul Collins’ Beat – Deep South Tour – July 2010

July 15 – Hattiesburg, MS – Thirsty Hippo (w/ The Hypnotic Chickens)
July 16 – Oxford, MS – Proud Larry’s (w/ The Neckbones)
July 17 – Memphis – Hi-Tone (w/ Peter Case, The Neckbones)
July 22 – Tuscaloosa, AL – Egan’s (w/ The Hypnotic Chickens)
July 23 – Jackson, MS – Ole Tavern (w/ Los Buddies, The Hypnotic Chickens)
July 24 – New Orleans – One Eyed Jacks (w/ Mr. Quintron, Missing Monuments)
July 25 – Mobile, AL – Alabama Music Box (w/ The Hibachi Stranglers)

This is going to be a great show. Crescent Moon is Dave from Ween/Moistboyz and Tomato from Sound of Urchin/Moistboyz). And hunky heartthrob Paul from Family Fun is a bartender at Hank's!!!!!!!!!!! - can you believe it?!

Oh, Mirrors and Wires are also great - surf psych punk from several underrated dimensions and Aaron Trammell is hilarious.

your humble servant,
mike in manh.

If you're in Toronto come down to The Beguiling tomorrow evening for the Scott Pilgrim vol. 6 launch party -- my girlfriend's band will be playing to celebrate the release of their debut EP as part of the event! Scott Pilgrim creator Brian Lee O'Malley will be signing copies of the books! And there will be an all girl acoustic Prince cover band called Soft & Wet! You can't go wrong!

Oh hey, I don't think I've plugged my podcast THE HOUR OF TRUTH here in a while. There might be new forum members who don't know about it. And why would you!

It's a music podcast, and the latest episode just went online to-day. Oriental beats, Thai soul, disco, modal jazz, Madlib, dubstep and classic Detroit, all crammed into a one-hour mix.

Feeds, streams and downloads can be found here:

My band Sat In What has yet another new album up for free at

satinwhat.bandcamp.com

It's called "Six Solo Albums" and it's good.

Feel free to download the others as well. I especially recommend the last one called "On Pyramid".

Thanks!

Let me know what you think, eh?

Hey all -

If you think about it, could you maybe help my band Pharmacy Spirits out with a vote so we can try to win this thingy? It would be neato!

(the following is from an email from the singer)

Quote
Hey everybody!
Okay, There is a festival being put together by Virgin, with bands such as Joan Jett, M.I.A., Sleigh Bells, Pavement etc.  It's happening soon. There is a contest for a cool band to play an opening slot (likely a mile away on a 30th stage somewhere by the port-a-johns) and I WANT TO WIN! Courtney, Brendan, Patrick and I would really appreciate your help - even if you've never heard us before.

If you have a few seconds, please vote for us.  All you have to do is:

1) Click this link: http://virginmobilefreefest.sonicbids.com/BandDetails2.aspx?b=19591&sr=false&bn=Pharmacy+Spirits

2) Cast your vote for us right on the front page.

3) Via your email account, confirm your vote (to assure authenticity).  If you don't do this, the vote isn't recorded.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY! And please forward this link/email to anybody you know who wouldn't mind taking a few seconds out of the day to cast a vote. Tell them we love them!

I gots another play going up in Chicago and Time Out did a feature on my friend Lisa and me.  As usual, any FOT seeking free or discounted tickets should PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Also, my body double made it into a Ted Leo video.

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
