Attention: Mike's people and fellow-travelers,

Manny Torres, friend of mine and brother of  one-time Best Show caller (and heave-ho recipient) Carlos, has made his first movie.

Check it quick before Tom Waits crushes him.

Bone Palace Ballet based on a Charles Bukowski short story: Bone Palace Ballet
"Like it or not, Florida seems dedicated to a 'live fast, die' way of doing things."

Here's my piece on the LaRouchies: http://johnsonvillepress.com/2010/09/13/you-me-and-obama-with-a-hilter-mustache-ben-kharakh/

Good work Keith/Ben. I've been wondering about these guys for a long time, but have never had the stomach to talk to them. There are a couple of local reps here in Montreal (weirdly, it's a global movement), and their Obama/Hitler signs have been pissing me off. Can't they cobble together a Stephen Harper/Hitler thing? It would get them a lot more interest from passers-by.

I had a proud moment when one of them tried to engage me about the hoax of Global Warming. I told him to "Go read a book." He was caught off-guard, and shut up long enough for me to walk away feeling triumphant!

Attention mad scientists, inventor types and general creatives...
WORLD MAKER FAIRE is Saturday and Sunday, 9/25 and 9/26 at the New York Hall of Science.

On Saturday from 3-7, I will be crewing the NeedleArts Stitch Zone with the National Needle Arts Association, teaching basic knitting skills to the masses.

Stop by for some stitchy fun.

Maker Faire is great. I was really sorry I missed the Detroit Maker Faire recently.

This may make a visit to Knoxville well worth it.

"Frame it, bury it, walk 20 paces away, dig it up in 15 years and teach the world to sing!"

Good luck Dave! What's the presentation about?

Nice visual pun dave! Tom and John Oliver would surely disapprove.

This week's installment of the Johnsonville Press, the outlet that the articles I've been sharing, is up. I started a feature called Inside JVP in which I interview my fellow contributers. I kicked things off with an autobiographical essay so that people could get to know me better. It's about my relationship with comedy, my tenure as one of America's premiere comedian interviewers, and my struggle with and eventual triumph over low self-esteem.

Don't worry: I'll be back to writing about systemic disenfranchisement and economic inequality soon.

Last week's article, BTW, was about so called Overdraft Protection i.e. how banks can legally screw you: http://johnsonvillepress.com/2010/09/26/scams-and-flams-at-local-bank/

Haven't seen much discussion of this topic on here.
The most significant failing of The Social Network is that it is incredibly boring.

I finished the first draft of my book "Hell Is Above Us: The Epic Race to the Top of Fumu, the World’s Tallest Mountain By Sir Kenneth Tersely"

Anyone like reading other people's stuff and critiquing it harshly?  Because that's what I need. Brutal honesty.

I'll repay somehow.  Food. Cash. Was your car.  I dunno. Let's discuss.

Link us to the first 5000 words or whatever. I may want to be brutally honest on a massive scale.
