That's great! So I'm guessing you did the art for your avatar? Who is it? For some reason, I always see John Locke from Lost.

Ha, thanks all for the generous words. W&I, actually I never saw Lost but having Google-Imaged John Locke, I have to say that was a good guess. My avatar is a painting of some anxious dude who never actually existed, a purely digital creation in Poser 8. I consider it a self-portrait even though it looks nothing like me.

I love it! Good luck with the show.

I finished this portrait of young Nick Cave for a group show in Brooklyn:

Since this is a holiday show, the interim title is Merry Christmas from Nick Cave, though assuming it goes unsold, I reserve the right to change that afterwards..

Hi there friends,

I'm more active on the twitter side of things, so many of you might already know of my record label endeavors, but I wanted to post here too since the road to starting my own record label was definitely inspired by the FOT community and the spirit of "DO IT!"

My label is called Negative Fun Records.  I co-own it with an old record store friend of mine and we specialize in seven-inch singles from all genres of underground rock.  If we believe in it, we'll put it out.

We released our first record in December, a split 7" from our old friend's She Rides from Providence RI, and the most inappropriately named band in recent memory, Dripping Slits from Bloomington, IL.  You can check it out here http://negativefunrecords.bandcamp.com/album/crucial-fix-split-7.  Though if you like it, be a pal and buy it from our site directly. http://www.negativefun.com/

Our second release is up for pre-order now, and might more up folks alley who listen to the Best Show.  We're putting out a record by a really great garage punk band from Tacoma, WA called Red Hex.  I've been describing their sound as Ty Segall, if he was raised on early Sub Pop singles, Mudhoney and the U-Men.  The record comes out on Jan 29th.
You can check it out and pre-order here: http://negativefunrecords.bandcamp.com/album/shoulda-known-7

Thanks for letting me shill for a second.

Can I use the "F-word", Tom?

Hey, I've begun a podcast called Replacement Players, where I force ask people to watch broadcasts of old games, then discuss with them with me. The first full episode went up today, and it features a talk with Year of Billy Joel scribe and frequent Best Show caller Will Stegemann about the infamous Rick Camp Game from 1985. If you have no idea why this game is infamous, our talk should hopefully clear that up for you.

You can listen and/or DL at the link below. The page also contains a link to subscribe on iTunes and a link to a post containing all sorts of weird video from and relating to this game, like Braves reliever Terry Forster appearing on Letterman while eating an enormous sandwich.

If you dig it, consider leaving a nice review on iTunes and spreading the word. Thanks.

I'm putting some poems into Google Voice and seeing what comes out on the other side:

I'd love it some FOTs called in...

This is such a neat idea, S-Bomb. I've been waiting to see what the first episode would be about and this is a great pick.

Just don't ever do the '92 NLCS Game 7 or I will unsubscribe and slander you till the end of time.

That is currently not on the docket, and I don't foresee it being used. I don't think I could stand to watch it either, and I'm not even a Pirates fan.

I'm drunk and I like it. I hope they gave you a lot of beer.

Paul Bearer didn't debut in the WWF until 1991.

So my new altar ego FABERGE GREGG entered into a Veggie Wing Bowl over the weekend! You should watch it! This was so much fun.

This character is straight-up villain rich brat heel. I'm working on a new version. As much as I love doing this kinda stuff, the new persona is going to be a lot different. Still rich and awful, but different.
