Boise State got screwed. I'd be so pissed right now if I were a Boise State fan. People can say that they should play better non-conference opponents but they have a track record so big conference teams won't play them. Really, the best they can do is go undefeated playing teams that don't compare to them and that should give them the opportunity to get a shot against a BCS team. Instead they play the runner up in the Mountain West and that's a load of crap. This is the problem with the BCS system; you will never know how good a team Boise State is because nobody will play them and they're not allowed to play anybody at the end of the season in a game that really matters. At least in basketball, the teams that nobody wants to play during the season get a shot to prove themselves at the end.

I agree and I know first hand how a team like Boise State can beat one of the big boys.  I also think that limits on the number of teams from one conference or mandatory inclusions in the BCS are a joke, but it's what they have to do to make it viable.  And, the truth of the matter is that even without the BCS, Boise State would get screwed.  It's about how many fans travel and what the bowl can do to make money.  It's a classic haves/have nots.

You want to talk about a team that got screwed?  Texas Tech.  They have one loss, on the road at the now #1 team in the country.  They beat Texas, and yet they are still just playing in the Cotton Bowl.  That place is a dump.

I am assuming that by "that place", you mean the state of Texas, right?

It's amazing how much joy I get from Texas losing anything.  I'm happy for Sam Bradford winning the Heisman (there's something special about a kid from Oklahoma, playing at OU), but I also love seeing Colt get passed over because he and his family are the stereotypical Texans who think that Texas is the center of the universe (when they lived out of state, his dad sprinkled dirt from Texas under his crib so that he could say he always lived in texas?  yech)

Now, if we could win the championship it would be great on two fronts: 1) In your face texas and 2) word around here is that if the title game ends up going our way the next expansion on the stadium would be an $80mil pressbox renovation.

Could anyone recommend a good online resource for filling out my Bowl series picks so I can win the ofice pool?  Thanks in advance.

You didn't want to make Tim Tebow angry. You're not going to like Tim Tebow angry.

I made a joke exactly a year ago, when I saw him at the local supermarket, and said "Heisman polish? Aisle seven".

He didn't laugh, barely cracked a smile.

But he prayed for you and all the other Polynesians.

Yes, that was nice of him. Didn't David Cross have something like that in his stand up? "Oh, you're going to pray for me? Awesome! I'll just smoke and drink all I want and y'all have got my back, awesome!"

if Florida wins, it's a tainted title now ;):

I feel bad for the kid.  he spent all year getting back up to speed after his knee injury last season.  After the Texas game you could see it start coming back and the last few games he really looked like he was back up to speed completely and had the injury out of his head.  He could be one of the really special ones who never has a chance to realize his potential.  He reminds me a lot of D'mond Parker, probably the greatest running back ever at Oklahoma who just happened to play on some of the worst teams we had.  He was our only option and every opponent knew it and he still continually made ridiculous plays.

I was waiting for the pre-game excuses to start rolling in
