Thanks for confirming my suspicions.  Wanted the comic fucking blew.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

The secret of the loom is entirely true. Wanted was a whole lot of bad.

absolutely awful. but a jolie is good. just not believable as a cold blooded killer at alllll. she is just too skinny.

What does weight have to do with killing cold-bloodedly?  Or is it that you just don't think she'd be strong enough to subdue her victim if that became necessary?

Yes, like Nancy says, "Never trust a junkie."

That was in Nancy?  I always thought there was something a little off about Sluggo.

Just saw "Wanted."  Ugh.

Quote:

"We take our orders...from a loom."

Seriously?

Seriously.  Shameless product endorsements, partially explained superpowers that are never fully explained, rip-offs of other films, questionable messages (It's okay to assassinate people if the orders are coming from a higher power, but not if they are coming from a  human).  Argh.  I left angry.

But that's just true, isn't it?

From American Movie, http://www.americanmovie.com/ which, if you haven't seen, I highly recommend.
From Mike Schank:

see, two dollars and two dollars and a potato means two dollars

Also, Mike Schank's album has maybe the best title of any I can recall:

Mike  Schank: Songs I Know
Whatcha eatin' there, some Doritos?

Some selections from 1987's Over the Top.

Lincoln Hawk: I always wanted to be a milk shake.

John Grizzly: When I get to the table, that person, I don't care who they are, they're my mortal enemy. I hate them.

Bull Hurley: Being number one is everything. There is no second place. Second sucks.

Bull Hurley: I drive truck, break arms and arm wrestle. It's what I love to do, it's what I do best.

You know, I think you could get pretty far in life, following the philosophy of Bull Hurley.
This may be the year I will disappear.

I second that one.  Just saw Bad News Bears with my daughter recently. Thought I would introduce her to the world of "Strong PG" with that one.  A lot of the movie had lost its yuks, and came across as swears for laughs.  But that line stood out.

Thanks for sharing that, Wes. Haven't seen Over the Top since I was a kid. "Second sucks." Glorious.
