Tuesday night at Club Europa
« Reply #45 on: April 21, 2008, 08:03:57 PM »
Alright, as self appointed Minister Of Fun for Greenpoint this week, I declare the following schedule for Tuesday's show...

1. Drinks at Matchless around 5. Or at least, I'll be getting there at 5. Matchless is about a five minute walk from Club Europa. 557 Manhatten Ave and Driggs*. You will know me because I'll have a large UPS mustache and a balloon. No joke, a mother fucking balloon.

2. If anyone is hungry, we can eat at Krolewskie Jadlo along the way. Polish finerys for the meat-eaters, pierogies for the rest.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

I wont' get out of work until 6:00 so I might not be able to make it to Matchless in time.  I was thinking of grabbing a soda at the deli with the pink awning on Manhattan and Meserole (?) before the show.  I highly doubt the show will start at 7:00.

There are three openers, so I wouldn't plan on going there until 9-ish.

I plan on going tonight. I would be happy to meet anybody else going, but I don't get off work until 6. I definitely won't be seeing any of the openers. At the Cake Shop show I made the mistake of being on time and was in such a bad mood after seeing 3 straight terrible bands that I wasn't able to fully enjoy Jay Reatard's awesomeness.
I would be willing to meet anybody around 7pm. If the Minister of Fun wants to tell me where to go, I will go.

The Minister of fun will be at Matchless until 9-ish to 9:30-ish.

Part of the Ministers duties involve "hanging loose." You don't get to be Minister of Fun by rigorously holding to itineraries.

Maybe I'll see you dudes at Matchless then. That's the place across from Enid's right?

Man, if I were going to a Jay Reatard show I'd most likely want to see at least one of the opening bands since they only play 30 minute or less sets. But, I suppose if you know the bands are terrible it's not worth it.

EMERGENCY CAUCUS!!!!

I'm really sorry, but Matchless isn't open.

I went there, found the doors were locked and ran home to deliver this info.

Instead, I propose Enids, across the street. I hope to see you there. With balloons.

Cheap Time is on the bill.  They are not terrible.

When they were here in Mpls. I wasn't too big on the openers but they weren't terrible (well one was). But, if I'm going out for the night to a rock show I want to make it a night and not a half hour. I suppose if I were in walking distance I might have a different opinion.

MANHATTAN SHOW WAS AWESOME.

I bet the Brooklyn show was filled with a bunch of jaded hipsters that refused to dance.

Just kidding, I love Brooklyn.

Also, I have no idea if there were any FOTs there because I forget what all of you look like.
