Yes, can we please put a moratorium on the use of the text message as a means of communicating anything other than "I'll be five minutes late?" I know Paul F. Tompkins echoes this sentiment, but lord, do I hate it.  Getting asked out on a date via text has become a dealbreaker for me.  How hard is it to make a phone call?

I am in a bad mood this morning.

Yes! Down with texting!

Can we add Instant Messenger to that list as well? Pick up the phone and TALK on it, you guys.

A few years ago I did have an idea to benefit from this electronic age of horrible dating. I was going to call it "Soul-crushing form emails for the dating deceased" and provide a service to those who want to end their brief relationships via email. Fill-in-the-blank emails and consultations, that sort of thing. After I got past the funny part of my confounding dating experiences (and they started being deathly depressing instead of darkly humorous) I abandoned the idea.

I actually got married via text message.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

JK's like the Anka Radakovich for the new century.

I loved it!

I'll have you know that I'm very futuristic.  I had my wedding on the deck of a Starship:

Just kidding, everyone.  I met my wife before internet dating and we got married outside of a log cabin in Indiana.  Also, I'm not that much of a nerd.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Spalding,

Love your monologues, regretted it was "just an evening"...I was devastated when you jumped off the Ferry.
That said, let's not dwell in the terrain of the guessing game. There are other sites for that information.

And I spell "class" F-O-T.

Thanks again to everyone on this site who had such kind things to say about my piece. You made my last 48 hours more Eddie Murphy, less Nick Nolte. What does that mean?

Forget the "Modern Love" moniker, NYT needs a bi-weekly "This American Klausner" piece.

Yeah, way, way over.  What can we do to get AM Rosenthal or whoever to fire Dowd and give us three Klausner op-eds per week?

Feeling kinda Nolte,
