Heh. I just checked the Miles Davis offerings and Pangaea, an album with only 2 tracks, is 24 download credits.

In perusing the website it appears that anything over ten minutes in length is "album only." iTunes has a similar policy.

Hugman it appears you owe me an apology or a convertible-- takes your choice.

"the ballad of el goodo," big star.

if i have focus enough to continue sitting at my laptop, i will next hear:

"whole wide world," wreckless eric.
"glory," television.
"everything flows," teenage fanclub.
"this town ain't big enough for the both of us," sparks.
"i want to see the bright lights tonight," richard thompson.
"lake of fire," the meat puppets.
"dedications to the one i love," the laughing hyenas.

it's a mix i made last night for a friend while i was scattered and moderately plastered on a bottle of wine consumed too quickly following a long day dealing with refugees and too-cute-for-words book-crazy kids. (insert commas and capitals and various whatnots where needed.)

(also, yes, i test mixes before passing them on to friends. this one's good so far in terms of flow and etc!)

i probably won't have the patience, but anyhow.

And, Hugman, I don't understand your question about individual tracks, but maybe the question was intended for someone else.

That SUXXX about the album-only thing.  I made out pretty well with 2- or 3-track full-length records from Fela Kuti and Sunn O))) under the old policy.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I always do shout-outs to all the major religions at karaoke night.

The best!

If There's A Hill Below, We're All Gonna Go!
That is my jam.

Yes! Great album. In fact, that run of albums he had from 1970-72 (Curtis, Roots, Curtis/Live!, and Superfly) is one the greatest runs in music history.

Hear hear!  I love all those records.

In "Hell below," I love how he gives a shout-out to "the Jews."  When I hear that, I imagine a bunch of Hasidim at a soul club grooving to the song.

I'm listening to my memory of tonight's Superchunk show at South Street Seaport.  They killllled. Great show.

Entertainingly Muse-like, big power guitar with pretty multi-tracked harmonies and other interesting instrumentation going on (glockenspiels, kotos, that sort of thing.)

It's hard to read the cover, it's Dredg, The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion

They are very different.  Don't Stand Me Down has a lot of long, rambling, weird songs.  New Wave Brian Wilson/Van Morrison, maybe.  It's a grower.

edit:  It's got a little Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey flavor too.

She's a 19 year old Austrian girl, sounds like Bat for Lashes, but better. Reminds me of Nico.
