again

Do you think the name of the man he claimed to prank in Portland is real?  It is just too good.

I couldn't even tell my wife the name without cracking up.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Just reliving how great this is and realizing that if a band today released this as their debut they'd be dropped before they could make a second album.

I think you were one of the people who turned me on to their first three albums (and Live at Budakon [sp?]).  Great purchases.  Thanks.

You're welcome! Glad you liked them.

I am currently obsessing over this Jay Reatard version of "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle." I never paid much attention to Nirvana's original, but this is a masterpiece. I certainly don't remember it being such a great song.

If you love those Cheap Trick records, bet you would love Alice Cooper's Killer and/or Love It To Death. Very different, yet somehow compatible.

I concur. I love those two albums (also love Easy Action and Billion Dollar Babies).

As for right now:

I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Soft Machine's first album, the only one people really like by them, I think.  Tom has played stuff off of it.

Third is also fantastic.

I have been plawing through Bitslap with KBC. Very enjoyable; sort of what I might expect if 90% of the Dusty Show was music.

I was at show a Milford Graves/ Zorn show I think fall before last? At LPR where Lou sat in for the second set completely out of the blue, very cool. Does Lou play with Don on this bootleg?

dfk, have you ever heard Kornet - from Sweden?  Fusion heaven, or what?  I went to a get-together over the weekend and a friend threw them into the mix.  I was sure it would cause people to leave
enmasse, but nobody noticed, luckily.

Azalia Snail, "Soft Bloom"
Recently lucked into a number of releases from the (now-dormant?) Dark Beloved Cloud label.  Pretty neat!
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
