I would love to be educated about what parts of that performance I should be enthusiastic about. Sincerely, I want to know, although Tom's voice keeps saying in the back of my head "it's not FOR you".

I have absolutely no experience with rap at all. But what grabbed me was the intensity of the performance; the crazy lyrics that are simultaneously clever, juvenile, psychotic, offensive, and literate; the beat was pretty badass; the complete lack of posturing that seems to go along with most rap either of the gangster flavor or of the too cool for school intelligent flavor.

I don't know, like I said I have zero rap in my music collection but something about this grabbed me like no other rap has.
