Have been enjoying the new Radiohead quite a bit. I find the end of the last track to be especially emotionally effective for me.

The Mountain Goats' Tallahassee. All of the lyrics on this are really great.

Does anyone else LOVE this record? I am always thoroughly impressed by these guys. I'm glad they are working more female vocals in.

So what do any of these things sound like? I feel strongly compelled to check out Disco Outlaw, though.

Disco Outlaw sounds alot like Reigning Sounds/Parting Gifts stuff. Jack O is Jack Oblivian formerly from The Oblivians. It's very soulful, twangy and Memphis-y. Here is a song and article: http://www.dustedmagazine.com/reviews/4951

The Belle and Sebastian album is very catchy and poppy. There are a few slower songs that are just as good but for instance the title track will crawl into your memory and never come out.

Bad Religion live, right now playing No Control .  Tight, fast and powerful.

Thanks PaulDeP. Occasionally, as with Disco Outlaw, you can tell by the name and the cover that it's going to be great, but that doesn't always work.

Therese's show from 2/28/11. I think hers might be my favorite music show on WFMU; Everything she plays I love.
