Now I'm spending my evening the way I did this time back in 1999 - listening to the Ramones' Rocket To Russia CD I got for Christmas on my Discman. This is the expanded version my wife got me as opposed to the German import my Mom got me X-Mas '99 (which was stolen in 2003. I'm still mad about it.) I haven't listen to this album in 7 years. I still love it. 2nd favorite Ramones album.

Found a snag with spotify premium (and all other streaming apps I use like Earwolf, WTF, etc). Got a text from AT&T that I'm in the top 5% of data users (I have a grandfathered-in "unlimited" data plan) and am in danger of having my speeds restricted.  Yea, I can use wi-fi, and do at home, but not in the car where I use all my streaming apps.  Life is hard.

And the Black Angels are really good.

A John Birch Society report on the U.N..

Are they (The U.N.) behind the fluoride in the drinking water plot?

Are you sure it's really the JBS and not Wurster?

"The John Batchelor Show" on WABC

Anyone ever listened to this guy? He makes Art Bell sound normal by comparison.

Grant Morrison on KCRW: http://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/gd/gd120104grant_morrison

Got a Tim Heidecker guest spot on there too.  Pretty interesting.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

RECENTLY LISTENED TO:

1) Plow United. They were a Philly-area pop-punk band in the 90s who were ever present at the VFW shows I cut my teeth at as a kid. They no doubt had to have opened for Ted Leo's band Chisel multiple times. I wasn't too into them as a kid and put them behind Weston and The Bouncing Souls and The Queers. But I saw them at Riot Fest in September. It was their first show in something like 15 years and they stole the show in a lineup that included 7 Seconds, X, The Dead Milkmen and The Descendents. I got the compilation they put out to commemorate their renunion and I have no idea how they weren't my favorite band when I was 17. It's terrific songwriting and is on par with the best Jawbreaker/J. Church/various DC bands style of emo-y pop-punk. I can't recommend this enough. BONUS: I think their longest song is 2:30 seconds long.

2) Even more New Order. On Jan. 4, 2012, I was convinced they were my favorite band of all-time. CONVINCED! I've done this before. This changes whenever I put London Calling or any of the first four Ramones albums on. And sometimes The Blue Album and Pinkerton when I feel like being all high school. The Starbucks I'm at right now just played Age of Consent.

3) 45 minutes of Fugazi stage banter, you ice cream eating tough guy.

Greggulator:

Have you kept up with the Bouncing Souls? I saw they released an album comprised of all those singles they released a couple of years ago and was wondering if it was decent enough to pick up. For what it's worth, I thought the Gold Record was pretty great.
