Engineering students behind me on facebook.

"dude, what is that? she's hot. do you know her?"
"it's this thing where you log on to facebook and every day it's got a different chick. It's like, oh, who's hot today? and then you see this awesome girl or whatever."
"what's it called?"
"daily babe."

IT IS SO HARD NOT TO LAUGH AT THIS

I lived with three of them in college.  Trust me, engineering students don't know girls.   ???

(I kid!  All three are married now.)

I think it's OK to laugh, Emma.

Nice haul, Dave!

And Omar, did a baseball player really run onto the field to a Mercyful Fate song?

Still the box fan for me - it's pretty quiet here.  Though if you count the inside of my head, the TL cover of "Suspect Device".
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Sadly, no.

Sadly, no.

Alas.  My ignorance of sports combined with my ignorance of metal makes me particularly susceptible to these types of jokes.

World Leader Pretend.

I don't have a lot of happy music.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Sadly, no.

I wonder if "what would your music be as a hitter or as a closer in baseball?" would be one of those sports topics Tom could do without the non-sports fans rebelling.

I would certainly not rebel against that.  Though, as a fairly typical nerd, baseball is the one sport I kind of like.

I've always thought it would be funny if we lived in a world where a batter would go out to bat and the entire 15-hour Ring Cycle played-- but that no one really saw this as out of place.

I haven't really *always* thought that.  First off, I haven't *always* been alive.  It is a thought that I had a few years ago, though.

I'm listening to me laughing at that image.

It's dorky, but I've always wanted to "do the Ring-Cycle." It's sounds just beautiful, and quite honestly I'm just as interested in the opera as the spectacle of the ring-cycle devotees.

Back in 1983, I saw Richard (oh you probably know him as "Goose" Gossage) trot out to the mound to the strains of Liquid Liquid's "Optimo."  I did a little dance in my seat, and then my mom got mad because I spilled sodey on my pants.  I was surprised ESPN did not include a clip of this in their Yankee Stadium montage during Monday night's HR Derby.
