This week's Gary the Squirrel/AP Mike showdown made me grateful to have ears.

Agreed!  Candace(?) back singing again did not.  Awful.
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

My favorite moment was pretty much the same as it always is:

Tom: I did what?

I have the exact opposite reaction. Her calls consistently have me laughing like a doof, good to have one in '012.

Yeah sorry Ben, the singing is consistently great. As is the fact that Tom just silently lets her go until she's finished and hangs up herself. The whole thing is always just ridiculous and perfectly timed.

I love Candace's vocal stylings as well. Especially given that they seemed to begin around the time Tom was having trouble mustering enthusiasm for the show in 2010, I always kinda envisioned them as something Candace would do to cheer Tom up. I could be wrong - no matter, she always makes me laugh.

Also always funny:

When the guest speaks for the first time on mike & Tom audibly jumps in fright.

Any show where Tom talks in falsetto a lot is a good show, so Gary the Squirrel made this one for me.  Boffo Moment: when Gary told Mike to "drop dead."

Gary's obsession with Box Office numbers was pretty funny to me. 'That movie underperformed.'

Listening to this one now:

February 3, 2010: Trip Whiting [Half Ape] (0:25), Matt Fraction Call [Make Love in a Comic Book] (2:28), Bryce [Matt Fraction] (2:53)

Matt Fraction and Tom are talking to a guy who purchased a pipe because he thought it would be cool.  They riff for about 45 seconds.

Matt, as the cigar store owner: "You're gonna be a regular SHERLOCK HO-OMES with this one."

Bryce named his pipe "Jerry."  Tom: "For Jerry Garcia?" Bryce: "Who's THAT?"
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Also love Bryce's meek "Some pipes are cool" to begin the call.
