I can remember at least 4 Corey Harris calls:

1. The one that's on New Hope for the Ape-Eared.
2. The one where Tom calls him at Radio Hut, where he is employed
3. & 4. The pre- and post-Mt. Everest calls (Disc 3 of Art of the Slap)
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Brock Peuchk.
DONE.

I'll second Brock. There's the huge digression in the middle, and then that sad, disturbing "yeeeeaaaaaaah?" about what he sees in the mirror at the end. Haunting.
This may be the year I will disappear.

Also, it features one of my fave malapropisms ("Now is the winter of our discotheque") and the phrase "I'm from Missouri on that one", which I use at least twice a week now. Not to mention all the DVD bonus feature stuff.

Another great, one-time creeper is relaxation guru Gregor McWilliams.  The end of that call is very disturbing.

All that stuff about the connections between punk bands and newscasters is amazing.

I had a client say "I'm from Missouri on this one" YESTERDAY.  I had forgotten the Brock reference.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I'm a fan of Chief Ray Ploppleton and his love for 'Greasy Funk'.

T: Put your hand up to your face.  What are you touching?  Anything covering your face?
B: It doesn't feel like it, but it looks like it.  In the mirrow it looks like it.
T: Are you touching a ski mask by any chance?
B: Uh HUH.
T: Now in your other hand, what's in your other hand?
B: The phone.
T: Ok, is that, is there...
B: ... and a knife.
T: Ok there it is.  Why do these guys find me?
B: You know why?
T: Why?
B: Because we like the night life baby... *claps* she says... *claps* YOU DIE.  *hangs up*
T: Oh my God, that's horrible.  I just got threatened to the tune of "Let's Go."

Between that and the Newbridge Theme Song, S & W have sure gotten a lot of mileage out of the Cars.

Get it? Cars? Mileage?

Here's another Cars-related journey from Larry Smirthwaite/King of Coatchecks:

Quote from: recap
In 1985, Larry told Hilly that he'd had enough of the hardcore shows, so he got put on the night shift and checked at shows for obscure bands like Camper Van Beethoven, Dinosaur Jr., Scruffy The Cat, and Poi Dog Pondering. While there was no snow during the SxE-leaning hardcore shows, Larry was now skiing downhill every night. The coat check room became known as ski lodge, and Larry was called "The Railroad Captain". One night, Ric Ocasek came to CB's with his wife, who was even hotter in person than she was on the posters Larry bought as a kid. (Tom preferred nerdier wall art.) Larry was a "big fan of her body", so he had to get romantic with her coat while gacked on coke. Paulina came back to the coat check area to get some cigs and caught him in the act. While Ocasek seemed supercool in The Cars' videos, Larry's antics made him madder than a rattlesnake at a Thai wedding. Surprisingly, Larry was fired for the incident.
