well, it's kind of a jerk move because if they want to be an idiot and smoke at a gas pump, thats fine...make sure you're the only one there. 

otherwise, its a real jerk move to smoke at a gas pump and not have any respect for me or further innocent patrons at the station, then put your cigarette out on the ground (where there is oil and gas) like, "oh yeah, i know, but i put it out."


of course you put it out, you were done with it, you jerk!

When I used to smoke and also get gas, I'd go to the parking lot area of the gas station. But I was never sure if I was out of the danger range.
Has a gas station ever caught on fire or exploded because of a cigarette? Even if it hasn't, its still a jerk move, but just a different class of jerk move. Its the kind of jerk move that people who think that because they have a certain amount of control of a situation that it's okay to obviously and pointlessly put you in danger. For some reason, I saw this a lot in college. Guys who had like a knife or people who juggle dangerous things. I can't stand it when people do that because then after the initial jerk move, they usually imply that you are freaking out for no reason because of their bizarre unsafe behaivor.
