I can't bury her, either.  Lately, what's really been bothering me is the way she handles her baby.  She hauls him around like a burden, slung over her arm like a load of dirty laundry.  I think she can't stand to see his face.  Only once have I seen her hold him against her shoulder, and only once have I seen her interact with him (she flipped the ear of his elephant costume over his face on Halloween and appeared to coo at him--from a distance).  My theory is that she hates the kid, that she takes his disability as a personal affront and is embarrassed by him.  At least his father carries him with a little affection, and Willow seems to like him all right (Piper treats him like a doll, which is understandable in a kid her age, although I suspect she's already a cold-hearted attention hound like her mummy).

I'm not convinced that's her baby

My latest theory is that he is Willow's.

Actually, he probably is Palin's.  But even if he weren't, that would be no excuse to treat him like a sack of rotten potatoes.

Word on the street here in Mass. is that Mick Rodney's stooges are the ones spreading the rumors about her, since they're probably the two major GOP contenders for 2012.  So don't believe everything you read from these 'sources'.

This is the woman who couldn't name one other Supreme Court case other than Roe V. Wade, or any newspaper or magazines she read. I don't find it hard to believe she was deficient in other areas.

I said don't believe everything, you munch.  Anyway, stories with anonymous sources should always be read with a hypercritical eye.

It's not like these are anonymous nobodies
these are leaks from inside the campaign itself.  I haven't seen anything they've leaked that seemed out of character for Palin.

Bah, all this latest stuff just corroborates what came out of her mouth.  It's that there icing on nem cakes, you know?  Unnecessary and perhaps dangerous icing, in fact:  it's making people feel sorry for Palin, when instead they should be hating and fearing her.

I'm a little late coming to this, but has anyone else read Camille Paglia's totally insane take on Palin?

http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2008/10/08/palin/index1.html

'I was never in doubt about what she intended at any given moment. On the contrary, I was admiring not only her always shapely and syncopated syllables but the innate structures of her discourse -- which did seem to fly by in fragments at times but are plainly ready to be filled with deeper policy knowledge, as she gains it (hopefully over the next eight years of the Obama presidencies). This is a tremendously talented politician whose moment has not yet come.'

I compulsively read her column every month knowing I'll be made helplessly angry by her knee-jerk contrarianism and liberal-baiting, but I can't help myself. She's the Armond White of political blogging.
