Spacemen 3, Louis Armstrong's Hot Fives and Hot Sevens, The Four Tops, and of course, the 13th Floor Elevators.

Has anyone mentioned Abracadabra by Steve Miller yet?
You can also hear that Mike'd Up song in the closing credits of every 80s movie ever made.
http://www.youtube.com/v/nQVpITyOdc8&hl=en&fs=1&This is on par w/ that BrokeNCYDE video. Painful to listen to / watch. I think one thing that these bands have succeeded in is making music that can completely offend punks. As someone who loves GG Allin (he passed on), I had assumed it would be difficult for a song / genre to really make me fear for the future. I feel like my mom probably felt after seeing my Black Flag "Slip It In" shirt.

He writes the songs around the rhymes instead of the rhymes around the songs.
To be fair to Steve Miller, it should be noted that Miles pretty much hated everyone. Hell, when he performed live, often times he would do so with his back turned to the audience. Clearly, he held some serious grudges.

I've heard he was a big dick but I don't have to hang out with the dude.
