I went running today, then I snuck into a pool! It was great and refreshing. I didn't eat too well, though. I had lots of cereal and bagels. :(

I would like to join this, as I found out today that i have SOMEHOW gained about 12 pounds in about 3 weeks. I have never gone above 185 in the past 3 years and all of a sudden this huge jump. Kind of concerned. I have been lifting a bit but I highly doubt I've already put on 12 pounds of muscle...so yeah. Fitness begins now!

I played basketball yesterday for the first time in about a year and a half.  Today I am a whimpering wreck and my knees and back are yelling at me for thinking I could run up and down a court for an hour.  That said,  I had a lot of fun playing again and hopefully will make it into a weekly thing.

I recommend swimming to those who hate exercise.  At least you're in the water.  Also, low impact on the joints.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Running is good for listening to words.  Podcasts, audiobooks, and recorded lectures all make time fly.  Running is also the only time I can listen to hip hop and pay attention to the lyrics.

Isn't pineapple good for your digestive system?

It is.  It's also an anti-inflammatory aid, good for strains, bruises, and overall muscle healing.

Pineapple is my favorite fruit.  It's obviously very healthy, but it's also very acidic so it sometimes may give ya' a belly ache if ya' eat too much.

I rode 16 miles on my bike today, a new personal record.  Yesterday was 12.  I sure hope I keep this up!

How is everyone else doing?

I've benn told it has a well documented other beneficial effect that I won't go into.  For really though, Pineapple has a high glycemic index meaning it's very high in sugar and spikes your bloodsugar and can lead to major hunger later on.  But if you eat a low glycemic fruit with it (like blueberries, apples, etc) you can offset that effect.  It's a lot more subjective and complicated than that but you should eat something with it.

I went to the gym today and got a good workout in.  I've been slacking.

Riding your bike is really cool, Thomas!
I had a really good run today and yesterday. I have gotten up to 3 miles without really slowing pace too much (until I reach the big hill in front of my house), Since I will have more free time this summer, I have been looking for good training manuals to follow...like if I wanted to train for a half-marathon. Does anyone know exactly how to go about finding a good training program? Or does anyone have one they can recommend?

i admit that i skipped working out this week.  ive been so busy after work i can barely make time for sleep- except when i went to the bar wednesday nite.  i let my roommate convince me beer was more relaxing and therapeutic than exercise.

why?!!
