I've been neglecting my fatness because it is taking too much time to join this YMCA, but I believe it will be coming through at the beginning of this week. Whenever it does, I'll be spending money I don't have which will initially force me to go, then hopefully things will become habit from there. As of now, because of this fake leeway, I've slacked on everything else including eating pie and pizza.

did you apply for financial aid at your Y?  At the hollywood Y, they cut fees based on your income.  Back before I was making millions of dollars on commercials I went through this process and was only paying about $15 a month.

I have, it seems to be part of the in-depth application process for anyone who applies, whether you need assistance or not. Since I'm not quite on the financial par of a Hollywood Huggins, I've been cobbling together what I'll need to keep paying through the year which has proven to be a bit more difficult than expected. Still, not insurmountable! This week, fat, you are under the gun.

Julie,

No way! What excuses would I have left without this needless complexity? Walking and eating salads is the easy way out and I ain't no chump.

Sincerely,
Joe

Dear Joe,

I said jogging, not walking. Pay attention, sir!

Julie

So, the past month I have been lazy on my running. As in, I haven't been running at all. Other than a slight increase in body fat,  I didn't think it made such a difference- until last night at work. A friend said to me "You aren't running as much anymore, are you."

Doesn't sound like much of a friend to me! Jog on their face.

SHOCK:  After a life of sloth, I joined a gym around the time this thread started and even took a few personal training classes.   My question:  at what point do I stop utterly loathing exercise and thinking about the multitude of things I'd rather be doing instead while at the gym?

I never got to the "enjoyment" stage of exercise. The best I ever got was appreciating the effects it had on my mood and my body. I've always found all forms of exercise (except walking) incredibly dull, and the culture around it totally loathesome.

Ditto.

We should all just try to have more vigorous sex on a regular basis. Simple, right? ;)

after you stick to it for a while and start seeing and feeling results.  also you need to vary what you do and include fun shit like playing basketball, racquetball, or boxing or whatever.   Learning to hit the speedbag really fast is fun, is great exercise, and makes you feel like a tough guy.

you can also try this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LekFaAA4kug this works for me sometimes. that's my wife so be nice.

hugman (+mrs. hugman) is/are right.  i find exercising and the gym terribly boring, but i feel so good when im done that i make a point to switch up my routine in order to fight the boredom.
