Some of you know that my Fantasy League that had been going for 25 years fell apart this year when one of our owners who had been at every draft suffered a fatal heart attack about 6 weeks before the draft was scheduled. Understandably, nobody had the heart to go on with the league.
This has been difficult for me, as that was my favorite hobby. I was like a kid about it, and really still haven't gotten over the loss of the guy and the league.
Anyway, one of the things I did throughout a fantasy season was a nearly constant ranking of players according to their potential fantasy value. And a couple of people here asked me a year or two back if I would ever rank AL players, as my league was all NL, and I never considered the other league.
So just to kill some time this morning while trying to burn through some backlog of podcasts, I decided to rank ever player in both leagues. Here's the current top 50.
1) Josh Hamilton 2) Miguel Cabrera 3) Carlos Gonzalez 4) Carl Crawford 5) Albert Pujols
6) Joey Votto 7) Adrian Beltre
Alex Rios 9) Robinson Cano 10) Delmon Young
