Cronenberg too edgy for you?

Dave, I was referring to the film that won Best Picture at the Oscars, not the one that won America's hearts.

Oh

"His car must reek of semen."

Thx, Dave from Cronenberg.  I really needed that to be imprinted on my brain for life.

You should read the JG Ballard book.  I lost it on a train a couple of years ago and was actually relieved.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I know, Grote, that's what made it so great!

I have several books that I got partway through, loaned out and am very happy they were never returned.  Keep em, suckas!

I watched it after seeing and enjoying Master and Commander.  I mean, say what you will, that was a fun adventure movie.

I was jaded, having read all of O'Brian's books before seeing the film.  To do the books justice would require a mini series on a par with the Horatio Hornblower flicks.  You can't really cram into one film 20 odd books worth of naval adventuring and still have time to develop the characters and a lot of the non-action intrigue that makes the books so enjoyable.
Abstinence, like all things, is best practiced in moderation.

If memory serves me, Tom talks about Bruce Campbell on the archive from the 12/18/07 Best Show.

I admitted to liking Steely Dan over the air a couple of weeks ago, so I guess anything I could admit going forward would pale in comparison.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Seconded. Isn't that one of the things we all find so compelling about Tom?...that he owns his opinions so completely. I say seek solace in your Steely Dan, your Bruce Campbell, your ABBA, and be proud!

I agree. I'm not changing my mind just because Tom doesn't like it, but I'm still a little ashamed of myself. It is Steely Dan, after all.
