Bah, he'd have been better off checking out abandoned vehicles on the way.  Methinks Rick was aware of that majestic image he was projecting.  Damn fool.  Clearly, a man who hadn't watched as many zombie movies as I.

Why does it seem like no one who is IN a zombie movie has ever SEEN a zombie movie. They seem so clueless. As for myself, I don't limit my preparation for the coming zombie apocalypse to movies.

Wow, I hated this, and I liked Rubicon, so obviously AMC and I don't see eye to eye.

Kind of a bummer that this show is heading steadily downhill. Hispanic gang subplot was just not good.

The best part was Glenn's face when Darrell put his his brother's severed hand in his backpack.

As dumb as this faux-gang thing was, I did like the chihuahua reveal.

Look at dat nose on da one in da middle. BOOOOOOOOOP!

I did not like the psychic hole digging. Okay, okay, zombie epidemic? I can suspend my disbelief for that. Zombie epidemic AND psychic dreams? No, sir. No, sir, I do not buy it.
Too soon?

I want so much to like this show, but so far I'm having a hard time with that.  At least now those boobs might stop camping out and get behind some walls.  I'm guessing, too, that, with Amy dead, Andrea is finally going to start becoming the tough cookie she apparently is in the comic.  I'm sick of all these wailing, helpless women.  And other stereotypes.

I really couldn't get behind the concept of "We're going to chain you to this tree until we're sure you like us". Good idea. The best way to make friends is to chain people to trees with man eating zombies lurching about. I was waiting for the hole digger to to say "If you're afraid I might be violent now, leave me chained up for another 8 hours THEN let me go."

Also, it's a little hard to root for these people when they're sitting around in the dark having a weenie roast when 6 billion zombies are out to get them. I think a LITTLE paranoia is in order. Maybe a lookout is a good idea in case two dozen undead happen by?

I haven't seen the show yet, but I just read a few volumes of the comic.  It's got to be the most depressing fucking comic book I've ever read.  I want to read nothing but Tintin and Silver Age Superman comics for the next six months just to get over it.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Shoot, sounds like the perfect accompaniment to my current mood!  I'd better get cracking.

To put it into terms that would narrow down the audience to just Sarah and me, the Walking Dead zombies appear to come equipped with Lurching Gait, Scent Blood, Flailing Gesture, Feeding Groan and Neck Lurch. At least two of them in the pilot seem to have upgraded to have Memories of Life, as well.
I know exactly what your talking about.  :-[ I think I've finally severed myself from that game, though.

I want to see someone shoot a zombie in the head with a flare gun.

My contact has been minimal for three years now, but I can't bring myself to admit I'm done with it.  Hell, for a few minutes this summer, after I got the new computer, I thought I'd try to get back into it, but no dice.  I do miss it, though.  I want to go back to the days when I dreamt in green and black grids.

Did you ever run into the Ted Leo zombie when you were in Malton?  I told Ted about its existence at the time, and he was amused.

Back on topic:  I find that, despite everything, I'm looking forward to Sunday's episode.

I'm always looking forward to Sunday nights. I drive 30 miles to my friend's house to watch it. It's not perfect, but I kinda love it.

I just watched the first four episodes again at my in-laws house on thanksgiving and there is a clear drop off in quality after the Frank Darabont directed series premier. I still like it though. I've read the first few trades of the comic and though they're following the books closely on some things, they're going crazy off book on others. The new stuff is really interesting though. Episodes 3 and 4 are written by Kirkman himself so I can't complain about the differences. Still love the books better though.

I'm glad it's not a page for page adaptation. I've read through Book 4, and I'm not sure I'd want to watch a show where I knew what was going to happen in every scene of every episode.

At least it's not Night Of The Living Dead 3D. That thing stunk.
