Ed Norton, Frances McDormand and Jason Schwartzman will join the already stellar cast of Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton and Bill MurrayI like all of his movies just fine, but I kind of hope he rolls back the visual style for this one. It's getting kind of claustrophobic.

Wow, Atwater is kind of fascinating. There needs to be a good biopic about him.Can you imagine this guy in the Obama era?

There are plenty of aspiring Republican power-brokers out there who are more shameless in their amorality and willingness to race-bait than Atwater could have dreamt of (Andrew Breitbart, anyone?). So far, none of them have come as close to the levers of real political power as Atwater did, but just wait until 2012.
Rove was absolutely shameless about gay-baiting, but Atwater-style race-baiting? Nothing's coming to mind, but I'm happy to have my memory refreshed.
