don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning this type of behavior but this is just so nuts I can't help but love it.

there's so many other stories about his antics too, like when he got kicked out of a game because he just decided to start beaning every player that came up to bat.
Actually I see that story as a nice counter to the 'everybody who does LSD goes crazy and kills lots of people or themselves or both' myths. Not for everybody, but the fact that a guy could pitch a no-hitter while under the influence is pretty mind blowing in itself.
I know it's amazing. He's like a real life S&W character. I can hear just Tom talking to him.
Dock: don't you know who you're talking to son? I pitched a no hitter!
Tom: oh, well, that's really impressive. That must have been an experience.
Dock: it. was.
nuts!
Especially because I was on cid at the time....Tom: wow, I can only imagine, I -- wait a minute, what was that last thing. You were on cid? What's cid?
Dock: Acid, why?
