Mike Watt in April, Ted Leo solo in early May and Mary Poppins: The Musical in a couple weeks. I don't go to many shows these days (claustrophobia issues/enjoy getting to bed before 2am) but I'm pretty excited for these three. Wanted to see Neil Young when he comes to town but that's a little too rich for my blood.

I don't usually know what shows I'm going to until a week in advance, so I can't make a months-long forecast. Here's the docket for the next 7-10 days:

Tonight: River City Tanlines/Sweet Eagle
3/21: White Hills/Birds of Avalon
3/25: Japanther/Surf City (maybe)
3/27: Destroyer/The War on Drugs

There are some Memphis shows I'm looking forward to: Guitar Wolf/Cheap Time, Jonathan Richman, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I'm considering going to Austin to see Wire, but I probably won't.

Victoria, BC (Vancouver Island), a pretty small market, so its nice that so many good shows are coming to town. The only one I need to travel to the mainland for is Guitar Wolf, but it will be so worth it: rock n' roooooll!

Recently caught The Parting Gifts, Obits, and Ty Segall. All were fantastic.

Upcoming is Destroyer, Lightning Bolt, and The Mountain Goats.

 I saw McMurtry about 10 years ago. He was great.  He's near the top of the singer-songwriter charts for me.
